It is. There's a case on it that some schools teach during 1L.Lobolaw1984 wrote:Lol, I would say that's a batterygmail wrote:I'm so mad I want to pull a chair out front under someone and commit, what I hope, is a battery.

Let's not get too specific with the question discussion folks.

Are we allowed to discuss the issues that were on the test but just not the fact patterns? Or neither?Lobolaw1984 wrote:Let's not get too specific with the question discussion folks.

Re: MBE - how'd you feel?
I have to agree with many of the people who have posted and have taken previous bar exams.
Trust me, it will not be as bad as you think. I remember walking out of the Feb 2010 MBE and thinking that I at best I had gotten about 50% correct after practicing in the 70-80% range. There were question in 2010 that dealt with specific SCOTUS opinions.
I used Ameribar home study for both the NC 2010 bar, and for the UBE this time around (even using the outlines from 5 years ago for the MBE topics). All of these review courses are just scams anyways -- they may predict what will be on the exam, but you also have to remember that they only get to use "released" questions. Now we all know what NCBE is holding back. But I will say, at least Ameribar prepares you for Earnest Money!
Some people will pass, some will fail - but do not be delusional about how this was the hardest MBE ever because the likely answer is -- it wasn't. And if it was, then we get a good curve. Just be happy that you don't have to study for the next few months no matter what. No sense in worry over what is over and done with.

Did anyone else find that there were a disproportionate number of questions on Con Law and a couple of other subjects?

There is a sticky that explains their policy. I think it's okay as long as we don't start talking about issues in combination with fact patterns.LAW813FL wrote:Are we allowed to discuss the issues that were on the test but just not the fact patterns? Also just a general question...was it embezzlement? I said no because no real intent to defraud

Re: MBE - how'd you feel?
Isn't the test supposed to be evenly split between all the MBE subjects? Every other question was Civ Pro

dont have to defraud, just have to unlawfully convert something that isn't yours. you have to intend the act, not the motivation.LAW813FL wrote:Also just a general question...was it embezzlement? I said no because no real intent to defraud

Is it true the MPT questions are worth more than the other essays? I thought the MBE was a beast. If I pass I am getting my applicant number tattooed

NY it's 10% while each individual essay is 8%, not sure of other jurisdictions.MrBlack wrote:Is it true the MPT questions are worth more than the other essays? I thought the MBE was a beast. If I pass I am getting my applicant number tattooed
*DO you mean the MPT or MBE questions? MPT was 10%, MBE questions were 40% total

Re: MBE - how'd you feel?
I felt like the questions were evenly split. I always write down the subjects of the questions on each page before attacking the questions, and it sure seems like there were around 27 Crim Law/Crim Pro questions. There were a couple of Civ Pro/Crim Pro crossover questions though that were stupid hard that could fit into either category.
I thought Torts was pretty easy on this exam. That's the one subject I was comfortable with, even though there were some weird obscure torts questions. Contracts, Evidence, and Con Law were about as expected.
But god damn, some of those Civ Pro, Property, and Crim Law questions were nasty. Especially the cross-over ones. I remember there being a couple of really tricky Remedies questions too.

Re: MBE - how'd you feel?
lol i have no idea what the correct answer was, even after looking for it a little bit. That seems to make me think it's a shitty question and is hopefully a test question.LAW813FL wrote:So does presidential power trump property interest?Elston Gunn wrote:agreedsomuchbooty wrote:I thought the President/Navy question was confusing.

Is there some exception to constitutional due process requirements for domestic executive action? Think of the implications if this were so ....
