Hi - checking in here, this wait is torture. Anyway, 2oldfts, just wanted to say I'm in the same boat - took NY bar 8 years ago - found CA to be so much harder. I took the attorney's exam and now I'm wondering whether I should have taken the full 3 days with the MBE. I don't think the impeachment issue was a major one (it seemed like there were lots of parts to that question), and I know a lot of people missed 10b-5 so I think you're in better shape than you think. I screwed up the trusts/CP question, did not even recognize the resulting trust issue (and I think it was a major one). But still holding out hope. Hang in there.

Do any of you think it is ok to assume that the scale will be similar to July 2013? I understand MBE scores are down nationwide, so I was under the impression that passing essay scores will be around 60-59 like it was July 2013. Thanks!

My understanding is that essay scores will have to be higher to be "passing." Because we're less able or whatever...

wow, that stinks. I was reading that 60s and even 59s were considered the new "passing" scores (even this past February). Oh well

If everyone sucked on the MBE, I would think the curve would be more lenient to keep the passage rate ~60-65%...if the exam were one big section.

I don't think the graders care about your MBE score, which explains the nationwide drop in passage rates.

The essays are curved to the MBE scale, which is why a bad MBE scale matters.

Question - how do you check if you passed on 11/21? Do you just check your Admission Status or is there a different website that you use to check? Thanks.

There should be a link in cal bar's website that takes you to a login page or portal for the exam results. You enter the number that is on your badge that allowed you access to the exam room. It then tells you whether you were successful in passing the bar.

So you need your file number, and what else? I lost my ticket in the 2 day recovery period post bar. I have my file number - but do I need something else? Anyone know where to find that something else?

Definitely thought about it. I don't necessarily want to deal with the slow, painful process of trying to get onto the bar site during peak traffic. I don't necessarily want to deal with the frenzy of Friday night "did you pass?!" calls and texts. Waiting until after the storm dies down seems like a good idea.

...but who am I kidding. I'll be online at 5:55 refreshing incessantly

I don't think there's a point to thinking about the curve. There is no way to know how we fit in to it. Either we pass or we don't.

I don't think it's a bad sign. Someone on the last page mentioned that ability to sign up had previously not been an indicator.

Yes, there is no known way (at least to my knowledge) to find out results sooner. I believe the results are already prepared and are in existence somewhere, however...

I have also not met anyone who had the level of self-control to purposefully wait until Sunday, so just go for it I'm excited for you guys!

I just tried this but I answered "no" to the question of whether I'm waiting on July 2014 bar results and clicked continue to see what would happen. I then got this response:

"Immediate repeater: The information you provided matches the information contained in the immediate repeater file."

If you answer no to the July 2014 bar question, do you get a different response?

I gave my parents and boyfriend my file and application numbers so that they can see my results on Friday night. I'll be busy doing laps in the pool at the gym, so I can literally drown my tears when the results are released.

yeah that will probably be me too. Or I'll make my husband look. I am neurotic about checking the scores for my favorite football teams....sometimes I am took nervous to watch but then I check the scores online...but then I don't want to look. This is hell

Funny thing I was so much less stressed about NY 14 years ago. I didn't even think about the upcoming results until the night they became available. I barely thought about it those months in between. But I was still relieved to see that I passed
