Passed NY with 141.4 which I do not think within the safe zone... I know a friend who passed NY but failed NJ with 150 MBE score last year.
I created my own civil pro rules for NJ essay......

Your friend with MBE 150 and failed probably slept through the NJ exam.
Yeah? Can I be hopeful, then?! Yesterday he advised me not to have too much hope on NJ.
I certainly did not sleep through the NJ essay day...... (although I had to become a rule maker for nj civil pro essay...)
I'm sorry, failed NJ with 150 MBE? I get that it's possible, but to then say he advised you not to have too much hope? Something's not adding up here.
But then again what do I know?

Somebody with a 150 mbe probably has over a 95 percent chance of passing.

Conclusion: Your friend either actually slept or s/he lied about his/her MBE (it's possible...people are sensitive to these things) Anyway, suffice it to say, most people (this thread included) are below the 150 mark.

Unfortunately, there is no way I can prove his MBE score...
Hm... he told me more than three times that he got 150 something. I don't know whether he just wanted to brag about it or lied to me.
I just did not doubt on his words because it did not matter much to me.
One thing I am sure is my mbe score is below 150.
I am so anxiously waiting on NJ release...

Let's just put it this way: the number of people who pass NY but fail NJ is << 10%. (unless you sleep during the NJ essay part). Your 140+ is very very respectable.

To fail with a 150 mbe,one of two things had to happen:
You get an average of <1.2 on the essay, or
A reader decided that you didn't provide a "bona fide" attempt on one essay.
It's probably that he skipped a question accidentally.

Doubt it. My guess is that they will want to release them late on a Friday so that people have the weekend to let it sink in. It avoids them having to deal with a ton of panicked phone calls.

Does anyone know the historical release dates for NJ? What the time differences between exam dates and results release dates are? Is there any predictability with NJ???

I received an email regarding character and fitness and adding documentation. Nice to see they are doing something over there.

Not sure where you're coming from. I thought that a MBE 150 needed a 122 Essay score (to make 272 total) to pass. From earlier ITT, I thought that 122 meant that you needed to averable about 3.1 on the essays. How did you come up wityh a 1.2?

Just to clear things up, the 272 score is to pass, without going to the regrade. During the regrade phase, you need 266 or better.
Also, no one has a clue, AFAIK, how the questions are scaled. A 133 might be an average of 3.5 on the questions.

He needs 106, roughly that's 1.2, with a lot of assumptions.

122 to pass and avoid regrade altogether, though, right? Hitting regrade doesn't mean anything if your final score is 266.

Guys, okay 116 or 122. But how does that translate to 1.2 average per essay? I'm missing some sort of multiplier, I think.

I have no clue. I would guesstimate an average of 3 per essay for that.

An average score on the essays is 138, because the formula they use equivalents them based on mean and standard deviation. For various reasons, I suspect an average score is <= 3

Btw, not sure if this was common knowledge, but the nonmandatory swearing in is December 1.
