I study around 6 to 8 hours a day, though it usually falls from 7 and 8 hours/day.

I definitely think I need to study more but I had a mental breakdown last weekend and I had to lighten up because I was going insane. In July I'll just be going into overdrive from the time I wake up until I pass out.

I REFUSE to go through this again.

It takes me eight hours but the most I've actually worked in that time span is just five.

I really enjoy how I'm scheduled for milestone #2 in a couple days when evidence isn't scheduled until the end of the week. I just recently completed milestone #1 (yes, I'm behind) and was right in line with the average, but I'm annoyed by the inability to go back and change your answers. I completed the exam with plenty of time in the book, then went through and was filling in my answers online and realized I wanted to change one. I couldn't - and my changed answer was correct so I got the question wrong.

This. I've been trying to replicate testing conditions as much as possible.

I did use the book. But I filled in my answers online to complete the task, and to score the exam. It doesn't let you go back.

You can call Themis and they might be able to reset it for you. My computer crashed and I got locked out halfway through entering the questions online after doing them in the book by hand, and they were able to clear the task so I could go back and enter everything again. Probably not worth it if all you want to do is change one answer, but it's an option.

How strictly are you all following the schedule provided by Themis?

I've been pretty good about sticking to the schedule and/or working ahead and starting early, but I've started to spend a lot more time reviewing at this stage since I hit 77% and it's the last month. I'll review what Themis tells me to review because it's a nice little reminder to not forget about certain subjects, but also review things a lot more when I know I'm weak in an area or have to do a graded essay soon. Admittedly I don't really track "hours per day studying" as much as some people so I think doing as many tasks as I could was a really nice way to make sure I was doing active work towards studying. I think everyone's different, but so far it's what's worked for me.

I've basically thrown it out the window and am using Flex mode exclusively. The problem is that I started two weeks late. I've maintained the normal pace but haven't managed to catch up to everyone else. The way Themis has Directed Study mode set up I wouldn't be watching the later lectures (ex: Evidence, Corporations) until right before the exam. I want to get all the lectures out of the way with 2-3 weeks to spare for just review.

I generally do one set of lectures per day and then a couple essay or MBE questions. I'm still maintaining a good pace, and will easily achieve 75% completion, but there is no way I can go back to Directed Study mode.

Now that I've finished the MBE lectures, I have a huge problem with the way Themis has planned the remaining lectures so I'm thinking I'll toss out their study plan for this week and just finish all of the lectures, as painful as it may be. I don't want to have to watch lectures when I think the bulk of July is best spent reviewing material/practicing questions and essays and praying to God I pass.

Is anyone else's averages for each of the MBE subjects lower than the national average? Some of mine are a lot lower (contracts, property) :\

I think I'm gonna go the same route as you. I still have Evidence, Evidence distinctions, Secured Transactions, & Conflicts to go. I'm scheduled to do Milestone #2 tomorrow, but I'm also scheduled to start Evidence tomorrow which doesn't make sense.

Use immunity: the statements that the witness gives will not be used against them. but if there is sufficient other evidence to warrant a criminal charge against the witness for whatever crime they talked about, they can be charged with that crime.( but their testimony will not be used by the prosecution against them at the trial)

So here's a potentially stupid question about Directed Study:

I'm feeling a bit behind (just under 50% complete). If I follow the Directed Study mode until the exam, am I guaranteed to reach 100% completion? In other words, does Directed Study mode keep rearranging itself to get you to 100% by exam time, regardless of how far you've fallen behind? Or is there a certain point where Directed Study mode just gives up on trying to get you to 100% (and silently mocks your lack of effort)?

I can't figure out how to post a screen shot, but i'm at around 50-55% in each MBE subject and the national averages for me are 61-67%. I'm not sure how true those are because some people could be using their notes to help them, while i'm just going in cold with what I know. So don't get too discouraged.

I would take those national averages with a grain of salt, as I don't think they're very accurate. For instance, none of the national averages for any of the MBE subjects have changed since I completed the first set of 17 PQs for each subject (I'm now on the mixed MBE PQs). Also, I recall browsing the Themis thread from last year and seeing that someone posted that the national average for property was 58%. The national average I have listed for property, which has not changed since I did the first PQ set, is 58%.

Yeah, I agree about the national averages being strange. I saw that the national average was really high for every subject even in May when a lot of the subjects hadn't been covered yet in directed study. Plus they haven't seemed to change throughout, so maybe they are averages from last year.

Anyone thinking about getting Seperac? I have heard good things about it, and would be willing to split costs with a group of people if anyone else wanted to purchase and share (assuming that is allowed). I am unsure the difference between this and the summary outlines Themis provides, save the frequency chart, so any insight on that would be great too.

Edit: Been following the thread (I am taking NY Themis), but haven't posted before.

Yeah, I thought about doing that, but I had already entered the answers for about 30 questions and really wanted my score. I guess I know I got the 2% higher and that's all that matters.

What do guys think is the maximum advisable travel time on exam day? I'm doing NY/NJ and just got assigned to Somerset in NJ, 1.5 hours from my house. I'm going up to Albany for the first 2 days, and could make the 3 hour (plus rush hour traffic) drive to stay with my cousins who live a half-hour from Somerset on Wednesday night. Of course I'd rather be at home that night, but I have visions of a horrible traffic accident making me late for the 7:45 check-in time, no matter how unlikely that is since I'd be leaving before 6. I guess I should stay over...

Nj sucks. Somerset is 20 mins north from my house yet they assign me seacaucus an extra hour north. I would have preferred Atlantic city to seacaucus. Plus I have to drive at l an hour and a half back from philly the night before.

Ugh too bad we can't switch. I would love Secaucus - 40 minutes from my house, and my dad works literally across the street. I could go in with him.

ETA: And PA is one of those states where you have to take the MBE there, right? So you and I are in the exact same situation, taking only day 3 in NJ, and we're both assigned to locations an hour+ away when there are nearer locations available. Such BS - "You have been assigned a site as close to the address that is on your User Home Page based on available space at each site." Guess they need a better program for their seat assignments.
