I literally can't believe that 95% sure we will all have our results in 10 hours. I'm buggin! Not me personally, this is my first crack at the bar but my buddy failed by 8 points. Idk anyone who failed by more than 20 points but there has to be several in existence. I hope we both passed feb, so that we can celebrate and watch the draft on Thursday/Friday.happyhour1122 wrote:anyone here who failed the previous bar by more than 20 points?

Haha, I would cry too. That MPRE was difficult and the NYLE was just a procedural PITA.cnk1220 wrote:HopefulSara101 wrote:Yup! 3 years from you administration. 2pm...9 hours to go. (Counting down until 11pm, since in my mind the answers are likely to be released after that. I could count down from like, 11:40 or 11:45 but whatever).
9 hours to go, 5 hours til I can leave work.

PA and NJ only required I get a B or higher in the course, which I did. You think NY will every be more reasonable? Probs not! haha

Now I'm wondering if my Aug. expiration is too soon...w/e, I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. Waiting on these results is stressful enough.GoBills4life wrote:Haha, I would cry too. But, I would still take it over the traditional NY bar with this extra hoop ANY DAY!

I'd re-check that- I know PA requires you to take b/c my friends all had to take. I think the passing score is a 75 for PA. NJ requires a C or better in an ethics course and you don't have to take the MPRE.

i love how we've all become 1 big family on here. All my non-law friends/fam are like "but it's just an exam?" like no you don't get it bye.
Otherwise I'm stuck in this weird limbo where Macy's wouldn't even give me a job...seriously
So funny you say that bc I just got a pt job at planet fitness and was told I was clearly overqualified but still got the job...having a few gym membership has helped me deal with this stress like you wouldn't believe lol

A friend of mine who graduated in top 10% of law school failed her first bar by 22 points.
131 MBE and rest essays. No one could believe her essays grading could be that low. Luck really does matter...

I think that happens to more people than we think. The essay writing on the bar is not as pretty as some of the best law students wrote. I was a legal writing and research TA for 2 years and some of my best students didn't pass the first time around, citing essays.happyhour1122 wrote:A friend of mine who graduated in top 10% of law school failed her first bar by 22 points.

It is SUCH a different beast than law school!

Yeah I applied only at B&N so that I could get a discount around the holidays and on the Starbucks stuff in the cafe. Even though I quit before having to work the holidays, they were like, in case you get poor while you're studying and want some more hours we'll keep you listed as an employee. I was thrilled because that meant I kept my discount through the holidays, which was awesome.cnk1220 wrote:

I did. I used "Id." in both.

Haha same. It had been so long since I've done actual legal writing though, it felt slightly uncomfortable. I did fine on MPTs in my last bar, it was the MBE that mostly brought me down.cnk1220 wrote:happyhour1122 wrote:speaking of essays

In 10 years we are going to look back to this day/time period in our lives and just laugh at all of the anxiety we went through. We will (hopefully) all be kick-ass attorneys by then
