Re: Feb 2016 bar results waiting thread
Remember that repeaters include people who have been out of law school for years and also those people who were not close at all. I was 1.9 points away. They re-read my essays and my essay scores actually went down. The bar exam graders may not even practice in the area that they grade. We will make it.
I feel better this time than in July. I agree with you about the afternoon being harder than the morning.
What was your score from July? What did you think of the essays?
Hahaha deal! I did pretty equally on both the essays and MBE - 131.something on both. But I TANKED the evidence and con law question (knew it when I left in the afternoon - 30 minutes early because I was starting to cry at my computer). I felt much more prepared this time around - though the "write a bench memo" crap got annoying by the 3rd time! There were a few MBE questions this time around that I thought were super-gimmies...how about you?
I totally agree!!! I had a 140 essays last time and a 128 MBE. The bench memos were ummmmm interesting. Haha There is a forum on this site about the MA essays. Have you seen it? I agree with you about the MBE questions.
Still don't know if a rocket that doesn't go off is battery or abnormally dangerous (what I put), nor do I know about the painter who did a battery, but we will see!!
I made a list of like 40 questions that I can remember. I felt like I did well by the mere fact that I actually got to every question even if I had to rush on the last few.
I hope that we pass.
You and me both! I didn't see the MA essays thread! I will look. I don't remember the rocket one LOL I was really happy about the commercial paper and secured transactions question...
This time around, I was shocked by the appellate standard questions, too, on the MBE. I Wasn't prepared for that. I packed up the essays this time, when I got home, along with ALL of my bar prep stuff. Hopefully I will only need to open it if I get curious and want to remind myself of what bar essays look like.

I am right with you. Sick to my stomach...seriously. I feel twisted in knots the closer the time comes. We don't know the hour...so I'll be obsessively wearing out the refresh button on my browser. It wil be really interesting to get some pass rates from Oklahoma, I'm crossing my fingers and toes for you!OklaTaker wrote:We're in the same boat... I feel so sick to my stomach. I wish I could just sleep through the day until noon tomorrow. Oklahoma just posts the pass list online for the world to see. So for anyone who is looking to get a feel for the passage rate (at least in Okla.), there were only 167 people total who took it here. Tomorrow we can find out how many are on the pass list. Fingers crossed.stranlaw wrote:Congratulations GreenLibra and bigestyle...so happy for you and glad you both posted your happy news!!
DonDrapersAttorney...so glad you got a great result. Glad to see all of that hard work paid off. Perseverance is a great thing! Yayyyyyy!!
I am supposed to learn my fate tomorrow...they said that was the date they were aiming for to post scores online in Kansas. The anticipation is killing me! Somebody hold meeeeee!!!

David...glad you posted! Are you still on here tonight? Would love to add you on FB messenger if you would want to chat. I can send you my link.
I spoke to,the lady who ran the bar exam and runs the attorney admissions office. She said her goal was to post them om April 1st. She said it would be tough because that happens to be the last day for late applications for the July Bar...so that day is very hectic. But she knows that we are all dying for results.
Also, I looked up the historical data and it looks like they post them on the 6th Friday after the exam. That is tomorrow!
It would be awful if it doesn't go out tomorrow because that would mean we'd probably have to wait until Monday. Ugh!
The swearing in ceremony is April 22nd which happens to be my dad's birthday and a lot of my motivation for taking the bar Has been to make him proud. It would be such a great birthday present!

No idea, I heard April 1st too and they did say 5 weeks which would put it at this week...I wish they just gave us a real deadline like some states do. Everyone has been asking me when I know for sure and I have nothing to say to them, lol. I didn't think about it at all after the test...until now. I REALLLYYYYYY don't want to fail and have to retake it in July...studying while working FT was hard enough during the winter, I can't imagine having to spend all summer cooped up too.2bars wrote:What's the consensus around the Illinois release? Are we getting scores tomorrow? Last year was April 1. Guidance at the exam was first two weeks of April.

Ha!! Well, I'd call you superhuman, not an idiot. You managed to give life to a tiny human, finish law school, and pass the bar! YOU are amazing! And you're spot on... So excited to look forward to a crazy great graduation, knowing that we are TOTALLY done! See ya in May, bigestyle!bigestyle wrote:Yep- My Dec grad date was late, not early. Y'all are amazing. Wanted to report another PASS in NC! First time sitting for the bar. I have two friends, also first times sitting for the bar, and also both passed. All three of us are non-traditional students: all early-to-mid-30's, all formerly employed in non-legal fields, and all early graduates this past December (Wake Forest).
I felt good going into the bar, felt good (not over-confident) walking out. I did 100% of my Barbri study plan, which I completed more so because it was the only thing I could control in this whole horrid process. As the weeks wore on, I had become convinced that I'd failed. Nightmares, heart palpitations, crushing anxiety.
Best of luck as results for other states begin rolling in soon!Sounds like all the Deac Dec grads passed! Hooray! Will feel good to cross the stage in May knowing we have this behind us. Congrats, all!

Do you know what time yours will be posted if it does end up happening today? I know the feeling... I had a co-worker tell me that she could instantly tell after results came out because my whole demeanor became more relaxed.stranlaw wrote:That is so nice...thanks! I tossed and turned all night. Advice for people who haven't gone through this before: Do NOT be at work if you can help it. Finding out I failed in July at work was THE WORST. This time I'm leaving at noon and going for a hike or something.waitingonthebar wrote:Do you know what time yours will be posted if it does end up happening today? I know the feeling... I looked here on TLS and it was posted on the 6th Fruday after the bar and someone posted at 1pm that scores were out for Kansas. The bar office opens in 4 minutes. So could be any minute. Very good advice. I'm staying home today. I'm curled in the fetal position under the covers right now. Re: Feb 2016 bar results waiting thread
Yeah, when I failed July, it was super awkward being at work. Someone else gave me my results when they arrived in the mail over the phone, so I had to just keep it together for both the waiting and the bad news. It was even more awkward when other new associates passed.rinkrat19 wrote:Advice for people who haven't gone through this before: Do NOT be at work if you can help it. This time, I just went home for a few hours to wait on the results, and even that was a poor choice. Even after getting good news, I experienced an entire range of emotions after arriving back at work followed by the utter exhaustion that comes from relief and waiting. I spent the whole afternoon trying to not burst into dramatic tears every time someone said congratulations. I was just like, I'M IN A GLASS CASE OF EMOTION!

I am right there with you, lawst_. October was horrible. I don't want to be at work, but I don't know where else to be. Also, definitely want to scream at anyone who thinks I can complete an assignment right now. Not going to happen.lawst_ wrote:Sitting at work waiting on IL and I'm a bundle of nerves. IL Bar website says that scores have been posted. https://www.ilbaradmissions.org/news.action?id=1480
However! I have not gotten my score. Is this a bad sign? I am very impatiently waiting.
