Also, it's crazy how you can prepare all summer and spot issues on essays and whatnot but come exam day you're always 5 minutes behind schedule and you're missing things and wondering how to just get it down lawl

Might have been good to talk about the contract in terms of possible defenses she had, and a quick mention of why Paul can sue now and not at the due date, but otherwise - pure remedies.Determination3 wrote:I hate to spring this on people, but I'm freaking out.
Was remedies a contract crossover? It just asked what Paul's remedies are, so I didn't talk about it.
I didn't go into a full K analysis ecxept for mentioning there was a breach and he had contract remedy rights.

I went into the Feb 2014 Cal Bar without really studying Comm Prop and Remedies and they both freaking showed up. Had to bullshit hard though but I passed!fish52 wrote:So how bad can you mess up and still pass? Any anecdotal evidence of people screwing up an entire essay or an entire PT and still passing? Give me hope here, guys.

To everyone having ExamSoft issues with uploading, trust me, it could be so much worse. I know that's a headache but mine crapped out on me DURING the f****** exam! Trust me, it could be way worse. With that said, good luck on the MBE; at least you don't have to worry about that software. Oh and don't be thrown off of by all the Civ Pro you'll come across (though you're prob aware of them by now).

Yay, ExamSoft did the automatic upload for this morning. Took not even a minute. Not that I was worried or anything.
While I really like this forum, I can't read about the issues missed or identified on the exam. That's just going to freak me out.

WARNING: Beware of self-induced anxiety from talking about the exam.
REMEMBER: People HEAR what they FEAR.
You will only hear the bad news when talking about this test.
It's human nature...
So.. avoid it !
Last July when I took the test... EVERYTHING I read about other's experiences, and thoughts about the essays, STRESSED ME OUT.
I recall an article in a local paper by a reporter who took the exam and and talked all about it for normal folks to know what we all went through...
That article made me sick with all of the stuff I thought I missed.
I was mad that someone put it in my mailbox for me to read.
I was mad that I read it !
I wanted NOTHING to do with other's opinions.
There is NOTHING GOOD to come from it.
You are hoping for NEUTRAL at best...
...and you will not get neutral...
You too will hear what you fear...
ALL of the anxiety was self induced and pointless.
You have no idea of the curve and the issues other's are addressing.
You are doing the best you can.
Period.
Let the cards fall where they fall.
I guarantee there is nothing but pain to be gained by talking about the test.
I would run from anyone who wants to deconstruct it.
In the end, I passed. It was all a blur.
I hope you all do too.
I recall every moment and nuance of the stress and the tests.
Looking at the "model answers" is a joke.
Mine are soooo far from them.
That is why I stress NOT to ever consider them as templates.
(exactly what I was taught too)
There really are no magic words for you.
Just plow through it and do-what-you-do.
Then, let it go.
There really is nothing more you can do.
SO DO NOT WASTE ENERGY TRYING.
ONWARD !
(now, go on and keep talking.... but STOP after Thursday, and just move on, your future will thank you..)

Talking about the answers does reveal what subjects and issues (e.g evidence) were tested, so you do not have to study for them for the Thursday essay session.2807 wrote:WARNING: Beware of self-induced anxiety from talking about the exam.

Yeah, I did. Well, I don't have to take the MBE today, since I am taking the two day attorney exam. I was thinking about going Glamping today.2807 wrote:Ok. If the Professional Responsibilities was a X-over, wouldn't there be a straight PR question likely tested? July 2009 had 2 PR X-overs and one straight PR. I am not taking this round, I am taking February 2015, but all my friends from school are sitting for this and calling me after it was over for moral supportCarryon wrote:Yeah, I did. Well shit.
Contrary to the expectations I had formed, the real thing felt a lot harder than all the practices I did. Hard plus a lot of bizarre nuances. Also i spent nearly the whole time whereas i usually was finishing 30-45 minutes early. Hope it want just me.

To be honest, taking through stuff with other people had given me a bit of relief. Knowing other people had trouble organizing pt 1 and that I was not way off with the 10b-5 thing was pretty therapeutic.

I am not sure that I agree it was harder but it definitely took me a lot longer. Finished with five minutes instead of thirty ish.pkt63 wrote:Well shit.

It was harder-I did OPE 4 (July 2013) and finished w 20-30 minutes left-I had 5 minutes left this time. They definitely changed how they tested certain areas-hoping afternoon test is more reflective of the last OPEs they released.pkt63 wrote:Well shit.

Yeah I was hoping all 10 of the experimental were this morning! I mean my impression was they were noticeably harder but not so much that I'm going to fail or anything. I was just counting on my score being the same or higher than the simulated and my practice sets, and that feels questionable now.lmr wrote:It was harder-I did OPE 4 (July 2013) and finished w 20-30 minutes left-I had 5 minutes left this time. This was me in a nutshell. Did a massive amount of MBE prep Qs (including 3 full OPEs with excellent scores) and felt like I got my ass kicked.pkt63 wrote:Well shit.

Re: California Bar Exam (July 2014) thread
Ever since I got into Ontario I haven't logged on (last Friday) so I may have missed a lot of points already mentioned in the 20+ pages I missed haha
But I think I smoked yesterdays essays and PTs. The remedies was right in my wheel house, the evidence seemed simple enough (I grinned when I saw FRE and not CEC), and then the PR/Partnership crossover was relatively easily... had to bs a bit on the partnership stuff but good enough to suffice. Then the PT was one of the easiest I think I have taken.
Of course, feeling this good about it means I may have missed something, but so far I cannot think of anything I missed on Day 1. I would be surprised if I didn't get at least a 70 on each essay and the PT
Today, I fell back into average mode. Kept second guessing myself on easy ones that I should have known. To make it worse, the Civ Pro "test questions" were simple and I probably got all of them right.... and they won't count.
Overall, I probably did a little worse yesterday than I think I did and a little better today than I think I did.... but should still have a nice buffer going into tomorrow.
I'm guessing Wills/Trusts; Crim; CA Civ Pro for tomorrow (just to fuck with us)
Good luck to everyone, hope you're feeling good about it and like your chances!
