Somebody should call BOLE and ask how they are supposed to fill out this survey prior to receiving their results. Then when they answer ask when the results will be released.

Re: NY July 2016 Thread
I called and asked if the survey is supposed to be taken after results are released, and casually mentioned that one of the answer choices references results. I was told that we are "encouraged to complete the survey as soon as possible" rather than waiting for results, and to just answer as best as possible. I explained that I want to wait until results are released before taking the survey since I won't exactly be in clearest state of mind when it comes to evaluating anything that has to do with the test until then. She said in that case, it's fine, and that results will definitely be released prior to the end of business day 11/9. She went on to clarify that they may be released before then - that that's simply the date they know for certain that results will be released by.
In other words, no new information.

How strange that I did not receive a survey from NYBOLE. Is there anybody else out there that did not receive it as well?

At the top of the survey, it says Thank you for participating in the Bar... so probably not tailored to folks who passedrkreymer wrote:I think I fainted... Everyone should have gotten it, no?

BOLE may be sending the survey out in batches based on name, test site, or any other variable (or randomly). There's NO possibility they'd be stupid enough to send it only to those who passed, so stop fretting.UKATTORNEYUSA wrote:How many people did not get the survry? that's what I would do if I was in charge of BOLE, right as I encouraged them to fill it out BEFORE they got their results

Why would they? If they really knew, I think the people answering the phone knew the date, they would certainly tell all of you because they feel bad for you and they don't want to be bothered.SLS_AMG wrote:I'm beginning to think the people on the phones don't really know any more than we do.HoneyPot wrote:I called and asked if the survey is supposed to be taken after results are released, and casually mentioned that one of the answer choices references results. I was with people with a range of last names and testing centers (Javits, Buffalo, and Albany) and we all got it at the same time. My vote is random...raptors_delight wrote:BOLE may be sending the survey out in batches based on name, test site, or any other variable (or randomly). If we're voting, then I vote that one received the e-mail if and only if they passed.rathgra wrote:I was with people with a range of last names and testing centers (Javits, Buffalo, and Albany) and we all got it at the same time. Based on the number of people that got the email with the survey and the class ranks of people I know who did get it, I don't think this is true - I don't think it only went out to people that failed. I get where you're coming from, but I think it was random and based on something IT-related, and that the rest of you can expect the same email soon.JenDarby wrote:I bet they sent it to everyone that failedraptors_delight wrote:BOLE may be sending the survey out in batches based on name, test site, or any other variable (or randomly). My bet is on sometime next week, probably Wednesday or Thursday. That's based on nothing other than pure gut feeling.

Evidently, someone found a link to the 2008 Bar Passage Search that might work as a means to see if you passed.
The link: https://www.nybarapply.org/OnlineExamResults.aspx
Good luck!

This would work if we took the bar in 2008

This ******* survey. Why do they have to send this out and make us feel paranoid? I just feel in my gut that I failed now. I would think they'd send it to people who failed because maybe those are the ones whom they need feedback from. Why would they need feedback from people who passed?
Sorry-I needed to vent.

I'm being 100% sincere: There's no way the survey means anything one way or the other. If they only sent it to people who passed (or failed) then it wouldn't be very useful from a statistical point of view. It's shitty that it came when it did when we're all on pins and needles, but don't let it get to you. Breathe, enjoy your weekend, and try to also enjoy the blissful ignorance we have for at least a few more days.MoreCowBellPlease wrote:This ******* survey.
