Re: BarBri Bar Review Hangout - July 2015 Exam
Anyone else nervous about retaining all of their MBE knowledge over the next month?
I did pretty well on the Simulated MBE and felt good about the subjects, but noticed that after the 4th, my PSP really focuses on essays, all of which definitely aren't MBE subjects. It picks up with refreshers for the MBE subjects in a week and a half or so, but I'm a bit worried I'm going to be forgetting everything I learned in between. Not sure if I want to adjust my study plan a bit or go off the PSP some or what.

Glad to see others are getting brutalized by condensing state outlines. I did Wills; Tax; and Family law yesterday. It was not fun. I need to do Employment Discrimination later today which should be a blast.charlesxavier wrote:Right now I'm just doing what's assigned--typically 1 or 2 essays a day. I see that after the the 4th of July barbri starts assigning 6 or 7 a day. Right now I'm just following my PSP plus spending a ridiculous amount of time condensing all of my absurdly long state subject outlines.Kage3212 wrote:How many essays are people banging out a day at this point? I have neglected some and have been catching up on state essays, but just curious how many people are trying to do a day at this point.

Re: BarBri Bar Review Hangout - July 2015 Exam
Yeah, this was not assigned in my PSP. I did it on my own. I know that multiple choice tests have always been my weakness, so I'm devoting extra attention to it.Lacepiece23 wrote:Are you just doing those on your own? I don't see them in my personal study plan (PA). We just finished all the MBE topics, and I looked ahead but didn't see them in our plan.kykiske wrote:WOOOO!
Finally didn't bomb a mixed MBE set. 31/50. Not amazing, but I was scoring around 25/50 last week. Just need to pick up 6-7 more points.
Am I missing something?
As a cost, I've been neglecting the MEE portion. Have not even touched the MPT. I think I'm going to punch out the rest of the lectures over the weekend, and then hit the sprint button over the next three weeks; dividing each weekday between the MBE and MEE. Maybe review the MPT on the weekends.

For those of us in Texas, can anyone tell me where to find the answers to today's practice essay/mpt/procedure and evidence test so I can grade this thing?

Is there a way to see the percentiles for the workshops? Or only the MPQ sets assigned AFTER the workshop?

Only after. Workshop 50th percentiles are in Barbri book. Those are your goals for the workshop.

Re: BarBri Bar Review Hangout - July 2015 Exam
In lieu of finding percentiles for individual workshops...dare I ask how people did on property workshop? I thought I knew this stuff, but I got 15/25. I did better (but not by much) on the diagnostics...
In terms of property, are people seeing a marked improvement as they move from diagnostics/wokrshop into MPQs?

helpful, thanks! Wondering why they ask us to input our scores on Workshops if they're not used for any of our data/metrics?Kage3212 wrote:LawGuy321 wrote:Is there a way to see the percentiles for the workshops? Or only the MPQ sets assigned AFTER the workshop?

Probably to continue updating that 50th percentile for Barbri books in the future.LawGuy321 wrote:helpful, thanks! Click the "i" information in the top right after logging on to BARBRI's page.BVest wrote:For those of us in Texas, can anyone tell me where to find the answers to today's practice essay/mpt/procedure and evidence test so I can grade this thing?
Then scroll down and get the July 2014 answers ("July 2014 TX Bar Exam w/model answers").
The essays are #5 and #7 there.

Re: BarBri Bar Review Hangout - July 2015 Exam
Still debating whether it's worth going in for the simulated NY state written exam on Monday. I feel like I haven't had time to really internalize the NY distinctions yet (they're *still* feeding us substantive law). What's the point in sitting down, blanking on something, or just writing incorrect MBE law? Maybe it's better to defer it.

Re: BarBri Bar Review Hangout - July 2015 Exam
FYI, if you go to the Enrolled Student Center and click on Practice Questions, Barbri has a set of "release questions." There's a disclaimer that, although these are real MBE questions, they're old and aren't as representative of the current MBE style and format as Barbri's questions. Are these the same questions as found on Adaptibar and in Emanuels? If so, does this mean we're getting a false sense of security from our better performance on Adaptibar's questions?

Any of you tried out that 'How to Crush Essays' formula?
I'm thinking it might be gold but hoping someone can verify they also feel that way

Here's John Oliver on standardized test-taking:

Though it focuses on K-12 standardized test-taking, I figured it may apply to our situation with the bar. Happy watching
