I know we can't bring our laptops in cases, but what about if we have our computer in one of those hardshell covers? Like one of those hard plastic cases that stays on your computer... do people even know what I'm talking about? I may have lost my ability to describe anything at this point...

I know what you're talking about, and I have the same question.
I think I'm going to call the Bar people today to clarify a few things, anyway, so I'll ask about that and report what I find out.

Thanks! I would rather not take it off, but certainly don't want to have to ditch it at the test center if there's an issue... they aren't cheap.

If anyone is looking for more test subject predictions, here is a good site: http://www.caexpungementlaw.com/#!Swami ... I-/c19na/1

I like the fact that it's based on statistics.

You never know. I am not sure that the article counted the test subjects that were in the pts.

Bad news...I called and was told that all cases and coverings have to come off. The person who answered didn't seem entirely confident, though, and recommended that I visit the test center today to get a real proctor's take on it. I hope they say it's fine because I really don't think mine will come off without something breaking.

Let us know what you hear from the proctor. I'm in the same boat you are.

Can we take the exam on out iPhone? If not, I'm thinking of bringing my Commodore 64. Like a boss! Bell Biv Devoe, now you know!

Just took my hard case off to be safe. I also have tried to take it off before and found it impossible so I was worried when I read this...

I googled it and found a suggestion to use a credit card to pry the top corners of the case off and then it just slides right off.

I decided not to chance it, so I just took mine off. The credit card trick works beautifully, btw.

Stopped by the Hyatt in Century City to check out the location. Someone threw their arm up preventing me from going inside just as someone else said quiet on the set. Five seconds later, Rob Lowe walks out of a Bentley 10 feet in front of me. The same guy said cut and I walked right in and checked out the room. It's a nice location. The chairs are decent.

This is actually the right attitude to have. you'll do better if you are relaxed and well rested than if you are pressing too hard.

Checked out the Ontario test center. the temperature seemed suitable for long pants short sleeve shirt, IMO.

Did these hard cases come with the laptop or are they accessories?

Desks in the room? Fairly average size, no problem

As far as the EXAM.. you will be at large tables. 2 people per table. Plenty of room !

Pasadena center was open from 2-4 today. Proctors let us take a peek inside, tables are long rows, 10 per table . You gotta check your ticket to see what exhibit hall your in, proctor said there's two different halls for tests. There will be an unguarded area for you to leave your belongings, so plan accordingly. Bathrooms and water are right outside the room.

I am an idiot and only packed shorts for some reason that escapes me now.

How big were the desks? Wide enough for people to bring a separate keyboard to their laptop?
