If it helps anyone, I was a 129 MBE and 679 (barely passing) overall...
I guess my essays saved me?

823 with a 172 on the MBE. I wasted a lot of time this past summer.

Ecstatic that the firm already removed the word “pending” from our bar admissions! Party within the hour!

Word. Rule of thumb: don't ignore the essays. They saved me, too.txadv11 wrote:If it helps anyone, I was a 129 MBE and 679 (barely passing) overall...

Where do I find my score documents? When I log into efast there is not a "read Your Documents"" link, as the email says there should be.

I had it in my efast 'email' box.

overal 727 MBE 150. Lower pass rate is interesting. Wasn't the entering class of 2014 (2011) when law schools were having a low enrollment crisis so some schools lowered their LSAT standards to boost enrollment. I wonder if there is a correlation with the lower bar passage rate. Or was the exam just that much harder?

One shouldn't equate schools struggling to get people to matriculate with the concept that there aren't enough lawyers out there. I have been wondering if the NCBE is maybe trying to cut back on how many people are being admitted to practice because the MBE was tougher across the board this year.bankofmouse wrote:overal 727 MBE 150. This board appears to be pretty much a ghost town now, but does anyone know how long it takes to get our license after sending in that form with payment?

I filled out the forms online, and once I submitted my payment I immediately received by bar card number. The website said I would receive my bar card and law license within three weeks.logdog wrote:This board appears to be pretty much a ghost town now, but does anyone know how long it takes to get our license after sending in that form with payment?

I'm paid and have my number. I'm going to go ahead and get sworn tomorrow after lunch. Not about to wait 10 days for the ceremony. After all these years, I'm done waiting.txadv11 wrote:I was signed up (and paid the bar) and sworn in before lunch. Come on slackers!

How are y'all getting sworn in so fast? Are you going to a judge or notary public? I'm not about to drive to Austin for this little formality

It says you can be sworn by anyone authorized to administer oaths. So, yeah, a notary could do it. I'm just going to waltz down to the courthouse and see if I can find a judge willing to do it because I think that would be more memorable.Grapes wrote:How are y'all getting sworn in so fast? I just asked a County (Criminal) Judge. Took about 3 minutes, including photos.Leira7905 wrote:It says you can be sworn by anyone authorized to administer oaths. So, yeah, a notary could do it. I got sworn in by one of our paralegals at lunch at a wings bar today. I'll probably get sworn in again by a judge though.Leira7905 wrote:It says you can be sworn by anyone authorized to administer oaths. So, yeah, a notary could do it. I think I'll put off the swearing in until sometime next year when I feel like parting with the money.
