Still waiting on the location email - anyone have any idea when it's likely going to be sent?

Re: NY July 2016 Thread
I believe NY residents are assigned to the location in the department in which they reside. However, everyone I know from Brooklyn has taken it at Javitz Center, so I imagine Javitz Center gets more than just 1st Dept residents to include Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island & Long Island so they don't have to go to White Plains (which is 2nd Dept but I imagine is much smaller), but I'm not positive. Once that happens, then out-of-state people have to choose between what's left (typically Albany/Saratoga or Buffalo).BK88 wrote:Howdy all! Checking in on this thread. Haven't gotten an email either. So, NY residents, let us know if you get your assignment email because if those don't go out simultaneously with the out-of-state email, I imagine the out-of-state one would be sent shortly thereafter.

Bar exam location email out!
Edit: got mine about a half hour ago. Chose White Plains -- Pace Law School because of its proximity to home. I was assigned to it and confirmed. My BF was assigned Javitz and switched to WP. Not on my recommendation, hah. Don't know much about the actual testing location.

Any thoughts on NYC v Westchester? Is it advisable to avoid Javits?

I'm also confirmed for White Plains. Much smaller venue and I would prefer to take a test there personally. Have to jump on it ASAP.pebblsrock wrote:Bar exam location email out!

Just FYI: confirmed w/ BOLE that out-of-state residents won't get the email until tomorrow - June 8 (for all of you who are as anxious as I am after not receiving the attendance certification email).

For those who have received the email, is navigating to the website from the email and then choosing your preferred location in any way a complicated process?! (I'm probably not going to be available tomorrow, so thinking of delegating this task to my mother!)

Re: NY July 2016 Thread
No, it's not complicated at all. It's literally click a link, select the test center, confirm, and then confirm again. You can even do it on a mobile device I'm sure (in case you don't trust your mother to do it correctly!)just_me wrote:For those who have received the email, is navigating to the website from the email and then choosing your preferred location in any way a complicated process?! I was averaging 68.5 (w/o) civ pro which I haven't finished reviewing enough to answer qs.
After scoring ope1 I went up to 73% at 350 qs.
Now that I started civ pro I expect the score will drop unfortunately.. civ pro gives me quite a headache!

Out-of-state e-mails are out
So, does it just let you choose any preferred location at this point and then you get lotteried out if it fills up, or would it have stopped me if a site was full? I was able to choose White Plains without a problem.

Out-of-stater here, too. I got NYC. I'm also wondering whether there is any chance that I won't end up there. Calling BOLE now.Easy-E wrote:Out-of-state e-mails are out

Cool. I thought NYC and White Plains were basically locked off for out-of-state, since they would fill so fast. Post what you hear.la Rochejaquelein wrote:Out-of-stater here, too. I got NYC. My email didn't come through until 9:50am. NYC & White Plains were only available for Handwriting by then. I'm headed to Buffalo because close Albany hotels are all booked and I've heard logistics can be a nightmare there if you're not close by.Easy-E wrote:Cool. FYI, spoke with BOLE. They confirmed that if you've selected a site on the website and received the confirmation screen, that is your testing site. You can give them a call, though, if you want the extra verification. They can pull it up for you in two seconds if you supply your BOLE ID.

did they say anything about a confirmation e-mail on location chosen? I took a screenshot of my confirmation page just in case.la Rochejaquelein wrote:FYI, spoke with BOLE.
