Interesting discussion. My answer has sufficiently faded from my memory that I don't recall my precise arguments.

Same, I just remember this being my worst essay, hard to remember what analysis I did now.

In hindsight, I never should have told anyone I was taking Feb bar. Instead :"I'm taking some time off to regroup after law school."

Email from the Bar just now made my heart jump. I thought "Early results?" Of course not.

Hearing about all the historically low pass rates never helps my psyche. I know that Feb is always lower, but people still pass. The part that I regret is not having time to spell check my answers. I know that will not be a reason I fail, I just wish that I put together a well organized spell checked essay.

The first time I checked results my wife, kids and mother were there and my wife was video taping it. Bad idea. This time I want to be in my car, by myself, so that either way I can endure the moment alone. I know what it feels like to fail, that is about all I know. I'm sure the feeling of passing will be great, since its my last hurdle to becoming an employed attorney in California.

My wife if 5 months pregnant, we have two young boys and I will need to work full time, if I have to take it a third time. I don't know if I have it in me to do it all over again. But, I remember thinking this way the first time.

Best of luck to all

Best of luck to you as well! I am definitely planning on checking results on my own. Did the same last July. What's different this time is that I didn't tell anyone I was re-taking other than my significant other (who agreed to not look up the result release date so I can deal with it on my own and share the outcome when I'm ready). This process is not easy and there's not been a day that I don't think about the exam in some way, but I'm so thankful I followed some of the advice on these forums about keeping the retake attempt to yourself the second time around. Whoever recommended it, thank you!!! It somehow makes it slightly easier and less stressful or dare I say, less consequential.

I hope everyone including myself passes, but if you don't, I highly recommend not telling others about any subsequent attempts (if possible of course as I know those with pending job offers for eg. can't avoid this)-- it truly takes some pressure off even though everyone around me is/would be extremely supportive and I'm already a licensed attorney in another Jx so in theory it's not supposed to be as devastating as I can always work in said Jx (it's still crushing btw). Nothing beats keeping it all to yourself and a few close people if you must. If I pass this time, I'll share my tips on how I handled questions from everyone after I failed in July especially for those who are super close with their family or have very intrusive family and friends lol. Good luck to all! The wait is almost over

That would've been nice. Probably not relevant for most of you; however, at least the email clarified that the results will be posted at 6 pm Pacific Time. Since I'm in the midwest I would've been anxiously checking at 6 pm my time by mistake. Wonder how long it will take to get on the site.

i think there was one on google search. That Bar Secrets has 3 different "professors" debriefing it and none of them ever mentioned CA civ pro.

Yea I don't think CA Civ Pro netted any points on that one. Wish there were more debriefs. Oh well, we will find out soon enough.

Videotaping? Oof, that's rough.

If you had solid substantive answers, I don't think you need to worry about things like spellchecking unless it was really incomprehensible :)

If you don't make it this time, give it another try... and approach it differently! I guarantee there are "fun" ways to study for this thing. What was your score your first time if you don't mind my asking?

I was 5 points away before the re-read. My final score dropped after the reread to 1425.

Every time I read stuff like this I think to myself "Good for me because then my score would be way higher than the average and the curve will benefit me."

I bet everyone thinks like this who are in the average or below average.

Hello CBX Takers --

Question: Can anyone offer the most effective bar review course for California? Any thoughts/suggestions appreciated?

Thanks!

Effective? I took Barbri for February 2016 exam; however, I can better judge its effectiveness when results come out May 13. I've taken Barbri in the past for NY and PA (1999/1998) (coupled with PMBR for MBE) and passed both on the first try.

And apparently they will no longer be making the pass list public or releasing institutional breakdowns (at least for this feb.)?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
