I don't know...it was the impression I got from you, and your study materials were pretty great. But now I can't remember why I got that impression from you. Oh well....assumptions....I guess I'm the ass :)

Any thoughts?

Lmfao dude, you spammed multiple threads pawning AdaptiBar discount codes.

I don't care what you do in other threads (btw AdaptiBar hates people spamming codes online and lowering their reputation just fyi based on my conversation with the marketing director), and I know you'll get a nice kickback for little effort...

But if you're going to do that here or in the previous February thread, I feel it is my duty to let everyone know that codes from previous AdaptiBar students are almost assuredly for only $50 off.

Go ahead and PM the guy if you want (or any of the other people spamming the same offer), but you can do better than $50. Just a PSA for those who happen to be in this particular thread.

Yes read q first. It makes zero sense not to.

Previous students ("refer a friend") get $50 if someone uses their $50 code.

Affiliates (never took the course) get $25 -- or at least I was offered that much. I negotiated it so that I get a $15 referral fee and people who use my code get $60 off.

I actually don't know which method is better. I would defer to one's personal preferences. See what works for you during the course of your studies.

The argument for reading the facts before the question is that you are paying attention to all the facts instead of trying to take mental shortcuts and possibly missing something.

If you're in the "read Q first" camp, would you also look at the answers too? What's your rationale?

Don't forget to PM him, guys. You'll get $50 off. Maybe even $150 if you PM him three times.

I scored in the 96th percentile on Barbri's timed full day MBE practice test. I read the answers first before I read the question on every question. It gave me a reference frame for the facts. For example, if the answers are all about subject matter jurisdiction why worry about tort facts? It tells you which facts to focus on.

That is something you can do if call of the question isnt as obvious AND you are a fast reader. I wouldnt have been able to read fast enough to read the answer choices twice.

I actually tried both approaches on two different bar exams. I tried reading the call of the question first the first time I took the bar, and I failed, and I read the facts first the second time I took the bar and passed. Now I realize this is a gross generalization of what helped me pass the bar. The second time around I also did a butt load of questions (and real MBE questions, an important distinction), and that helped me pass. But not questions for the sake of questions and showing off on TLS, questions so that you can understand your mistakes and not make them twice.

Although I don't think it's a big difference, the reason I liked the "fact first" approach is because it's easier on the mind. When you do the "call of the question" approach, you have to think about the call in the back of your mind while reading the facts. The bar is going to murder you if you dont pay attention to the facts, like double homicide murder. Paying attention to the details is what allows you to unmask the incorrect answers from the choices. So when you read the fact first, the only thing you are paying attention to is the facts. Then when it's time to answer the question, you can see the call of the question and proceed from there. I am a strong believer in overcomplicating the bar more than it needs to be. Using effective but simple techniques makes it easier for you to consistently answer questions, something you should be able to do for MBE, Essays, and PT's.

Good evening folks,

Right now I am working on corporations essay # 3 from 1993. It covers derivative actions, fiduciary duties of directors, and then random issues (IMO) of redemption. The essay is here: http://genius.com/The-state-bar-of-cali ... -annotated

Again, if you guys want to join the project (annotating the questions using http://law.genius.com) I think we can make some pretty solid model answers that will be around for years to come.

Or... model answers that will be around for your studies.

It's real easy to make an account and get started just to try it out. If we can get a few people to explain their strategy on the essays, it will become a good resource. And for the people like Raiden, or Male Human that offer services, you guys could probably become "verified users."

What is the first essay due in the BarBri course?

You tell me, dude. What is SketchyLaw like? I remember you describing it a couple administrations ago, but I forget because it's been a long time.

I don't, unfortunately. I think they're all fairly similar in difficulty, and you should do a broad coverage of most of the essays per subject anyway.

The most I have is this list of essays by subject (donated a couple years ago so out of date for the 2014-15). Some issues were filled out by users, but it is by no means completed:

I'll include this in the resource post as well, thanks for reminding me!

Here's something pretty awesome I found too: https://sites.google.com/site/easybarpasser/past-exams/

It lists all the questions dating back to the Cabbage Patch Dolls. Some of them have outlines and sample answers. Its utility is primarily based on the fact that it has all questions unified on one site. Thus, it makes a good resource for practice essays because you do not have to fish around and download any PDFs. Lord knows where all my PDFs wandered off to.

This time around (cause I been around) I am focusing much more on writing essays. For three consecutive essays, I scored 60 65 and 60 and I wrote it all very disorganized. I spoke with a tutor and they told me that had I organized it better, in a specific order, I could have scored much higher. I dream of passing the bar, but I need to learn how to put the essays together.

For that reason, I am trying to compile as much information in regards to essay writing (for specific essays) onto the Law Genius site. It is hard for any one person to specialize in all essays, but by working together we can add ("When our powers combine...Earth, Wind, Fire, Water...") in some pretty good insights for each essay.

Anyway, keep it up guys!

Whoa that's pretty nuts! Thanks for finding that. I'm not sure how to sort by subject, though. That part looks incomplete.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
