Joe Plumbing secures a loan. Joe Plumbing makes an oral promise to Bank to repay loan. Anyone care to share their understanding of this example on Guarantees. I feel very slow today.

Re: Kaplan Bar Review Hangout - July 2015 Exam
I'm taking NY. Getting frustrated by the MBE. Contracts is really tricky, and I fluctuate anywhere from 65-70% right. I feel like that's still too low to feel comfortable.
I thought I was getting comfortable with Torts, but now I'm not doing great. My average has fallen to 65%. I'm doing well in Con Law and Civ Pro at least.
We've covered Evidence and Crim Law / Crim Pro as well, but I haven't had time to drill MBEs for them much.
I feel like I have so much more work to be competent at this stuff, but have already depleted 25% of the Qbank. I figured I'd be better at some of these topics by now...

Re: Kaplan Bar Review Hangout - July 2015 Exam
Omg I don't know what to do. My percentages on the MBE practice questions fell from 80% to 79%, what am I to do??!?!?!?!
Should I take solace in knowing that Kaplan Questions are supposedly harder than real MBE questions and I need 65% to pass the MBE? Yes, yes I should.
Should I stop whining on forums about it? Yes again

It was Ks in the second hour. I read it wrong. There's Joe Co., Bank, and Investor. The investor signs off for Joe... I googled "Material Benefit" and everything was explained nicely.Geaux12 wrote:Are you in Ks (parole evidence or something like that)? Commercial paper? I'm three weeks behind and feeling okay, but this isn't my first rodeo. Maybe I can help. How far behind are you and what bar are you taking?Geaux12 wrote:How far behind is way too fucking far behind?

Florida, 5 days. Currently hung up on Crim Law/Procedure - I should have already been through FRCP and Con Law. I haven't done any practice essays yet.ilovetheatre wrote:I'm three weeks behind and feeling okay, but this isn't my first rodeo. Maybe I can help. Re: Kaplan Bar Review Hangout - July 2015 Exam
What's the deal with these old videos? The Contracts guy mentioned Tony Romo and his 2012 season. Also brought up the Xbox 360 and an iPad. They should be on the Xbox one, iPad air 2, ...
What matters to me is not how the world has changed, but how the test has changed. I want to hear about what was recently tested and how it was tested. The prop lecture still says there will be 3 or 4 qs on classification of estates... but that has changed since recording.

Go ahead and skip the videos (if you want to and have time in the future, you can go back and watch them). Read the Bar Points outlines for the three subjects and answer the checkpoint quizzes. Do some MBE Qs. Essays generally seem scary, but it is still early enough that you can do them open book. Right now you want to get comfortable with the essay question style, practice issue spotting, and understand the preferred answer format. Memorization doesn't need to begin until the last couple weeks, so don't worry about what you don't yet know.Geaux12 wrote:Florida, 5 days. Re: Kaplan Bar Review Hangout - July 2015 Exam
Practice Question #1 of Contracts in the Blue Book lists (D) as both a correct and an incorrect answer. I've been noticing a few questions that seem like ... error. (If you jump to the explanation, you'll see what I mean.)
Naturally, I was split between choosing (C) or (D) on the question and chose (C). I've noticed quite a few questions that seem to have suspect answers, but this one is a flat-out contradiction. Fun.

Is there a place online where I can download finished versions of the bar notes for the lectures? I like following along, and I like having them on my computer, but sometimes I feel like I'm just writing things down and not really listening.

So I am caught up as far as lectures go, and have done 700 MBE and gotten 67% correct so far. Is this comfortable or should I be pushing myself harder?

I am 5 days behind on lectures, and have done 250 QBank questions as well as the checkpoint quizzes so far.
