In the CA Themis Study Buddy thread, someone mentioned there were shorter outlines available. I'm not taking CA, but did anybody else get these?

I don't have the books with me at the moment but the shorter outlines are available in the "MBE simulated book".gr8scOtt! wrote:In the CA Themis Study Buddy thread, someone mentioned there were shorter outlines available. I'm not taking CA, but did anybody else get these?

Clark isnt that bad, and I can keep up with him at 2X speed because he talks slower than Christmas. The way he ends each section with a quick nod and an, "ok" is hilariously awkward and perfect for a professor.habz wrote:Overall Geis for contracts is really good, Clark for torts is a total disaster in my opinion
Agreed that Geis was solid for Ks/
Checking in for TX, this already sucks a lot.

Re: Themis Bar Review Hangout - July 2015 Exam
Yes you are right, when I sped up the lecture to 1.5 or 2 times speed it was better and yes the "ok" thing made me laugh every time too. But, I really don't like that he barely uses examples, Geis used 150 more examples in a shorter outline. Torts is made that much easier with examples.BearLaw wrote:Clark isnt that bad, and I can keep up with him at 2X speed because he talks slower than Christmas. I only watched the beginning lecture for property but I though Kramer was really good. The fact that he's funny helps tooPleasye wrote:I'm doing property right now which sucks times infinity.habz wrote:how so?Pleasye wrote:I'm so jealous of you guys on Torts

Oh thank god, something to look forward to. I've enjoyed Themis so far, but it started with the two subjects I loathe (K's and Torts).habz wrote:I only watched the beginning lecture for property but I though Kramer was really good. Re: Themis Bar Review Hangout - July 2015 Exam
Took my first practice essay for Ks. Not terrible, but I couldn't get why the second answer went one way and not another (being somewhat cryptic to not ruin it for those who haven't taken it...), so I emailed my advisor and whatnot.
Have another essay schedule right after . . .

Don't feel so bad: I only got like 52%. To be fair though, some of the questions I got wrong based on something that the lecturer did not actually say (SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!)(Like he never mentioned that the charity offer had to be in writing)(SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!)
The essays are not as bad as I thought, but I keep going in a different direction in some things and I'm not sure why (I emailed advisors). Also, there was one specific answer in the second essay that I got wrong based on something the lecturer actually said.

MMMHMMM...my response to the last question was quite literally "wtf is [insert specific term here]?" Never mentioned in the lectures, and I don't recall seeing it in the outline.zot1 wrote:Don't feel so bad: I only got like 52%. Re: Themis Bar Review Hangout - July 2015 Exam
I had a similar experience with the torts questions, only got about 45% right on the first set. I think you'll find that you get better with each practice set as you get used to seeing the tricks that they use over and over again. My second set was way bettersd5289 wrote:Just did the first MBE practice question set (K's). 59% correct.

I'm relieved to hear this as well. For a while I was worried that Themis forgot to send me something that everyone else received.gr8scOtt! wrote:Thanks!Worker and Parasite wrote:I don't have the books with me at the moment but the shorter outlines are available in the "MBE simulated book".gr8scOtt! wrote:In the CA Themis Study Buddy thread, someone mentioned there were shorter outlines available. I agree Geis was great. The torts lectures are a bit freaky (why does he keep looking behind him?) I do like his style of having a review lecture every 3-4 chapters though.

Re: Themis Bar Review Hangout - July 2015 Exam
I've heard from multiple people that shooting for the 50% suggested rate is really what you want to do at this point. Only after multiple reviews, exposure to other wrong questions, and such will you start to get up to and past 70% in the last few weeks. I'm not trying to stress over that now. And yes, there are areas that aren't covered in the lectures in the MBE questions. I'm wrapping up the property lectures tonight and there is quite a bit that isn't covered in the lectures that is in the long outline.sd5289 wrote:Just did the first MBE practice question set (K's). 59% correct.
