The "needs further review" indicator on the mobile app for MBE Qs is mostly a scare tactic, right? I'm looking at my "rank" and I'm well within the "green" area (~50%) on all topics for which I've done MBE Qs, and as I understand it from that Barbri blog post that was previously posted, only the bottom 25% is around failing (presuming average scores elsewhere), correct? Obviously I have room to improve and will try to do that, I'm just wondering why Barbri says "it's percentile, not raw score" and then apparently indicates topics as "needing further review" apparently based on raw score.

If we've missed the due date to submit a practice essay, can we still submit it online and get it graded? This includes today's half-exam.

My understanding is that you can, the deadlines are just to motivate

I called the BarBri office on Monday and they said you can submit late, but that it will possibly result in a delay in getting the graded essay back to you.

Yeah, well considering they lost my essay I submitted last week and asked me this week to resubmit it, I'm sure you can submit an essay late.

I've been rotating through my flashcards on the MBE subjects every few days to memorize the material and to keep fresh. However, I am having trouble motivating myself to go back through the NY Specific topics (NY Practice and Corporations). I'm curious if other people have started trying to memorize this stuff or whether everyone's main focus right now is just on the MBE.

I've been focusing on the MBE also right now. Seems like the easiest place to pick up points, and there is still a month to go on the NY-specific stuff.

Yeah there's an essay today but it really doesn't seem like we've done enough. Is there a list of the assigned essays from the NYT book, or will all of the essays eventually be assigned?

Did anyone else read the Partnership CMR and feel like the instructor left out a chunk of material. There's a solid discussion of partnership property in the CMR and I'm almost tempted to buff up the outline.

I'm banking on only knowing what's in the lectures (if that). There's way too much shit in the CMR to understand all that.

Funny....I was coming on here to say the same exact thing. I read over the partnership outline the cmr before and thought to myself this was not in the lecture at all nor will I remember any of this. I'm hoping to just rely on the lecture. I also looked over the essay assigned for today was surprised that basically the whole essay was on workers comp. Also, I looked at the NY Bar content outline and they also have listed we should know about joint ventures, which was not mentioned in the cmr or in the lecture, so hopefully that doesn't get tested.

As for the MBE practice questions. I haven't really been timing myself, but I do occasionally do the stop watch on my phone just to see how long it takes me to get through the 25/18 question sets. I did it today actually for the torts workshop, I finished the 25 questions in 23 minutes, and I tanked.

Has anyone gotten their essay grade back for the Practice 1/2 Day Exam last week? And/or any word on the average for the last graded essay before that?

Has anyone used private tutoring from Barbri? I'm pretty terrified about the bar given my scores so far, so I just wanted to know about anyone else's experience or whether it is a good idea at all. The hardest part seems to be memorizing everything and I don't think that a tutor is going to do much for that, but I was just wondering...

I haven't gotten my 1/2 day back yet, but apparently the average score was a 50. average score for essay 14 was a 40.

ETA: just got my 1/2 day back. The box said "see comments within" but the file they gave me to download isn't marked up. Well done, Barbri.

Finding it really difficult to get motivated lately. Especially for the NY-specific stuff. If I'm at 50th percentile or above in Studysmart, and getting average grades or slightly above on the essays, I probably don't have too much to worry about, right? Do past bar takers find that Barbri's grading/percentiles were fairly predictive? I'm not going to shut the books or anything, but it is really nice outside lately.

I'm in the exact same boat on all of the above, and I feel okay at this point, I think. I also would be very curious to know how past bar takers felt about the barbri percentile - bar correlation.

There's no damn way I'm gonna know wills enough to write an intelligible essay. Thank god the test that decides whether I get to earn a living depends on the memorization of hundreds of arbitrary/non-commonsensical rules, b/c I would never be able to glance at a statute in real practice.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
