If one gets a callback from OGI, when do those normally occur for the most part? The period of the summer between OGI ending and classes starting? Or during the first few weeks of the semester?

As soon as you can schedule them.Br3v wrote:If one gets a callback from OGI, when do those normally occur for the most part? The period of the summer between OGI ending and classes starting? Or during the first few weeks of the semester?
Unless you get an offer from your dream firm, or you have an offer form a firm you can deal with and you're sick of traveling, callbacks continue until late September or early October. For some, they last a lot longer.

I actually have no idea how this plays out. Is it something like a few days after the interview you get a phone call and they ask you what date works?pertristis wrote:As soon as you can schedule them.Br3v wrote:If one gets a callback from OGI, when do those normally occur for the most part? Some firms will let you know (either way) that day. Some will call within the next few days. Some send you an email. Some call you several weeks later. Some just never get back to you.Br3v wrote:I actually have no idea how this plays out. When you get a callback offer, either they tell you when you have available or you ask. Either way, you choose the soonest spot you can make (within reason, of course). It's perfectly acceptable, generally, to push a callback back a few days if you are going to another callback in the same city. Firms like this, as it saves them money. But you still want to go sooner, rather than later: Firms often make hiring decisions quickly, and the more offers they have outstanding, the less likely you are to receive an offer.

Re: UVA Law Students Taking Questions
Quick question. Most 1Ls don't end up at firms over the summer, I know there is a wide variety of places that they do end up, but how did you all go about finding these opportunities? I'm guessing judicial internships are pretty straight forward once you have identified the judges you would like to intern for. What about PI and other opportunities?

They're advertised on Symplicity or PSJD.RCO2012 wrote:Quick question. I figured that was the case. Is there any compilation of organizations that frequently take in 1Ls besides firms?danitt wrote:They're advertised on Symplicity or PSJD.RCO2012 wrote:Quick question. So when do they release the list of courses available next semester? Pretty excited to have 100% control over my schedule in the fall.

There are two foxfield events - one in the Fall which pretty much everyone goes to, and the one in the Spring that is right before exams. I don't know of any 1Ls that went to this one - we're too busy, but I know of a few 3Ls that did.sl5uw13 wrote:do law students go to foxfield?

I know of at least one ambitious 1L who went. He's a little wonky though so it was kind of expected.First Offense wrote:There are two foxfield events - one in the Fall which pretty much everyone goes to, and the one in the Spring that is right before exams. You're an idiot if you go to spring foxfield as a 1L. You're equally as dumb if you don't go to 3L spring foxfield.shadowofjazz wrote:I know of at least one ambitious 1L who went. 1L foxfield is defensible if you plan for it. it's a day and a half off from studying, but it's not like there's a shortage of time to study in law school. you will be sunburnt for that first final though

Anyone have tips on cheapest internet provider in Charlottesville? Just looking for internet, no cable or phone. The cheapest I've found so far through searching online is $40/month.
Any recommendations greatly appreciated!

I'm assuming the OP is taking him this semester - in which case from what I've heard it's a lost cause (grading likely by staircase)sundance95 wrote:Dont. He's not all there anymore.
