Where did you find that 170 median info? They don't publish the GPA or LSAT medians on their website as far as I could tell.
It's been floating around TLS (here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=128236&hilit=2013+medians)
It's also published in some Princeton Review stuff:

This is a complete shot in the dark, and a very specific question, but if anyone here had Professor Jason Johnston in the past and has any advice on his exams, I'd be grateful if you could message me. He's a great teacher, but we over here at UVA are left guessing as to good exam strategies, as this is his first year here.
Good luck with finals everyone!

Did he teach mainly common law and not very much UCC? Did he require you to do any papers? Also which book did you use?

Yes, almost entirely common law, only mentioned UCC a few times and gave two papers. The book is Scott and Kraus 4th Ed. along with supplemental readings he collected and Chirelstein. I've found some old Penn outlines online and the course seems almost exactly like the one he taught at Penn, with a few updated readings and minor changes.

I think there are plenty of lawyer-made cupcakes already in Philly. Check out this link if you haven't already read about this hilarious lady:

Are you planning to stay in Philly if you get in? Either way, I may ask you for some details about the city. This place seems perfect for me!

I do believe career prospect is not that great in Philly if you graduated from USF, so maybe the cupcake truck is a decent option anyway.
I am not sure about staying. I do love Penn very much, and I am rooted here right now so it will take the right opportunity to make me not stay. That said, I do like warmer weather and nice beaches.
Feel free to ask me questions, I will be glad to help any of you out. Is Penn one of your top choices? Come to my happy hour nonetheless

which supplements/books would you guys recommend for 0L? I know there are tons of threads addressing this but it would be nice to hear directly from Penn students!

Penn is now my absolute top choice. If Stanford or Harvard comes through then my parents may talk me out of Penn, but I'm not holding my breath on that. I want a city but I also want a car and the certificate in gender/sexuality law is right up my ally.
I know you think housing is expensive in Philly, but can you tell me your thoughts on some of the places in CC? I really like Rittenhouse Claridge from what I can find online and it sets me up to be in close proximity to the law school and the Crossfit gym I want to join. Are there places that haven't been talked about that I should look into? I am planning to make an excel sheet over this break and then add in more information when I'm able to visit in late March.
Thanks for the help!

Getting to maybe.
Read Glannon's E and E on Civ Pro. If really ambitious Farnsworth on Contracts (a hornbook).
Everything else don't bother. Many professors teach law that dirrectly conflicts with supplements or take a vastly different approach altogether. Also many supplements are just fucking wrong. I've been going through them with a red pen for all of finals period fixing the mistakes that I got charged $35to read.

I didn't get my last first semester grade back until March. Most of 'em will probably be in sometime in mid January, though - at least, that seems to be the usual schedule. Just forget about it until then.

Are they not all released together?

Mine weren't. All the professors but one were past the deadline when they finally got their grades in.

Anybody know what the median gpa is @ Penn? I heard just below a B+ but above a B (~3.2?) - that sound about right?
Also, I'm a 1L done with my first semester - feel free to PM w/ any questions.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
