Likely June 10, based on when grades were released two years ago. Registrar told me 3L grades are out June 5, so a few days later would make sense for 1L grades.

June 5 is a wednesday, that'd be random. The equivalent to last year would be 5/31, but I'm inclined to think the new registrar will hold them later.

Supposedly the fall recruitment process starts on the 5th for us, so maybe the monday before, which would be the 3rd?

That'd be what they said it was going to be last year. In point of fact, 1L grades came on Friday the 1st, and the firm list/ gpa ranges went live that Sunday. So if they said the process starts on the 5th it's possible grades will be the 3rd.

That makes sense, then. I just guessed June 10 because two years ago it was June 6, and the registrar specifically told me 3L grades would be available June 5 (which I agree is a weird date). Because the last 1L exam was taken after the last 3L exam, I just assumed 1L grades would come out the Monday after 3L grades, not before. Either way, I don't think it'll be the Friday; the new registrar has been a bit slower than Nan Colvin.

This.

But last year the LR calls went out on 7/11, ILJ & JLPP the next day.

Based on 3L grades that came out today, grade inflation is rampant. Enjoy it, 1Ls.

Inaccurate. It's bimodal- the people at the top keep trying hard to maintain rank (and max out on ungraded credits), while anyone outside stops caring entirely, thereby softening the curve at the top. You get a concentration around two peaks instead of a normal distribution as you'd expect.

It's bizarre as shit.

Well, the bimodal thing may be true. I can't say I'm well-informed enough to know. However:
For the graduating Class of 2013, the gpa cut off for magna cum laude was 3.80 and for cum laude was 3.62.
5% - 3.84 10% - 3.80
Now compare this to last year:
For the graduating Class of 2012, the gpa cut off for magna cum laude was 3.70 and for cum laude was 3.53.[/quote

Plus, last semester,
Class of 2014 [three semesters]:
5% - 3.89 10% - 3.81
So the top 10% cut-off has gone from a 3.7 to a 3.81 between the graduating classes of 2012 and 2013. The top 5% has gone from 3.84 in my year to 3.89 in your year. Both of those figures are likely to be higher for your year once you graduate. If that's not grade inflation, I don't know what is.

The grading policy that was sent to members of the class of 2013 who requested an unofficial transcript in the last few days.

And for those that are wondering, it doesn't include years other than 2013.
