There's also a Courtyard Marriott near the Airport that is cheaper than the Statler and closer to campus than the Super 8.
The Hilton in Downtown Ithaca is really nice too, and you can at least walk from there to the Law School.

That reminds me. There's also this fun bed and breakfast called the Henry Miller Inn. It's pricier than the other listed options, but I still think it's cheaper than the Statler. And the location can't really be beaten - just a tad above the commons so you can see how the rest of the world lives and then you just walk up the hill to collegetown/campus. IMO, it's a better option than Statler. And the people who run it are really nice and make yummy food/late-night cookies. And there's free parking, but you really wouldn't need your car if you're staying there. Everything's well within walking distance.

He cold called the first day of class maybe one or two people and then never again as far as I remember. And if he does, A. He won't push you and B. I wouldn't worry about the questions because this is kind of a review (assuming you're doing SMJ) and can half-ass it

Ask a 3L who had him first semester about his cold calling.

people do all sorts of fun stuff together, a lot of it consists of aggressive drinking though. you know not like a "hey, we're grad students lets have a mellow drink and intelligent conversation." much more like "beers' are only a dollar at big red barn? good thing I've got 20 bucks in my pocket!" A group of kids went to the hockey game the other night. I know people who have gotten together to go to movies etc. etc.

I'm definitely not the biggest fan of my 1L class but overall everyone is nice and fun to see out at the bar.

I was personally very surprised with how un-stereotypical student life is. Nobody I knew got their books stolen, sabatoged, etc. Aside from a few loud-mouth aspie kids, everyone's more-or-less normal and social.

OMG THIS IS MY FAVORITE LAW SCHOOL MOMENT

Guest Speaker in Clermont's class calls on koala...hilarity ensues

koala: I would like to invoke claim preclusion on this row because it was called on last class
outraged speaker: do you mean to tell me you will not be answering my question?
koala: *something smart ass essentially meaning that no, he would not in fact be answering*
outraged speaker: do you know that in my day, we would be docked a grade point for not being ready for a cold call
koala: good thing we're not in your day

class: *stunned silence*

Both are great, but one is somewhat terrifying. You, however, have no choice, and will likely get both.

Communicate now with those who not only know what a legal education is, but can offer you worthy advice and commentary as you complete the three most educational, yet challenging years of your law related post graduate life.

Do the suites in Hughes Hall have a kitchen? Anyone having any opinions or reviews about living in Hughes Hall your first year?

Also for those people who do not live on campus, is it easy to find a place that allows large dog breeds? (i.e. Great Dane)

I've heard that Civ Pro is a NIGHTMARE from several people now... why? Just the course itself? Or because of the instructors?

Course itself. I actually really enjoyed Clermont's class.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
