How realistic are my V100 goals?
For anyone with experience, how hard is it to get into biglaw from a T20 school? Would it be difficult for a median student at a Vanderbilt, WUSTL, BU type school to break into a V100 firm?
I did a Corp law internship in undergrad and loved the M&A work I got exposure to. Also my dads a lawyer so I know exactly what I’d be getting myself into. From my dad I have connections at V6 firms but assuming I’m not going to get into a T10 school, I don’t think I will try to leverage those connections. I’m mostly aiming anything V100.
I’m a fin major with F50 finance internship experience and real estate investment internship experience as well if that would even count for anything.
Thanks in advance

The difference between admission to a T20 and a T13 ("T10" isn't a thing) is 5-ish LSAT points. Why are you already writing off the possibility of admission?

You're a fool not to use your father's connections to get a job if you want a generic biglaw V100 M&A gig. It's literally the biggest advantage you have. Just make sure you're at a school from where firms regularly hire and then use every damn resource you have to land a job.

Are you aware of the website "lawschooltransparency.com" which was started at Vanderbilt Law School ?
It details job placement from law schools.

That's true. Just been seeing lots of people with my GPA (~3.75) and 172+ LSATs getting WL and R across T14 this cycle.cavalier1138 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 17, 2021 5:38 amThe difference between admission to a T20 and a T13 ("T10" isn't a thing) is 5-ish LSAT points.
