Subpoenas Duces Tecum vs. Rule 34 Demand for Inspection

I would like to know the pros and cons to both subpoenas duces tecum and rule 34 demand for inspection. I'm having a hard time discerning between the two. When would you use each of them? Any help would be appreciated.
