Yale graduate taking questions

Post by IWenttoYale » Mon Jan 23, 2017 5:25 am

I saw a thread where there was a 1L Yalie taking questions. I decided to start one where you can ask a YLS graduate questions. I was a law review editor, so you can ask me questions about law review too. Fire away.

Thanks for doing this.

Now that you've started making loan payments, do you have any thoughts on the perennial question of Yale vs full ride to CCN?

You're very welcome.

Well, I must admit that I did not get a full ride offer to CCN. Having said that, I have given some thought to this hypothetical scenario. Of course, it depends on your goals. If your aim is simply to get a good job after graduation and to get the best return on your law school investment, of course a full ride to CCN would be the right choice. If, on the other hand, you were aiming for academia like I was, then Yale would be the wiser choice. I have actually finished making loan payments through teaching and research; I graduated law school in 1984! Haha. I am a true Yalie because I did my BA at Yale as well, graduating in 1980.

You didn't go to Yale, jessjaneeve, you went to Australian National University. At least, that's what you said in your other thread.

(Sorry folks who were looking for a Yale grad.)
