Possible to summer at Securities division as a 1L
I know that first year student's can't study securities, so I am wondering realistically if a 1L would be hired for the summer working on securities. Thx.

I don't really know what "securities division" means, but one of my 1L friends worked at the SEC.
A lot of people are going to be working 1L jobs in fields they didn't study as a 1L, just like a lot of first year associates are going to be working in areas they didn't take classes about in law school. It's trite but kind of true that law school is about teaching you how to learn the law rather than teaching you specific black letter law. Once you know how to learn it, you can teach yourself the law in whatever area you're working in
