Can You Get Out Of Binding Early Decision?

Post by retupmoc12 » Sat Apr 30, 2016 9:54 am

I was accepted to a law school via binding early decision several months ago. However, I have since done some deep soul searching and decided that I am bagging the entire idea of law school altogether. I am going to pursue a Master’s Degree instead. With that being said, I have two questions:

1. Can you withdraw your seat and NOT HAVE to enter law school, even after being accepted binding early decision? (Again, I would not be entering any law school)
2. If yes to #1, can I enter a Master’s Degree program in the Fall in place of law school?

Yes and Yes - binding ED can't compel you to attend law school; it just means that if you DO go to law school this cycle, you have to go to the school that you committed to.
