WANTED: Transfer Students

Post by Apple4321 » Fri Apr 29, 2016 3:34 pm

Hello TLS community,

I am looking for any law students/graduates that transferred in law school that would be available to talk on the phone and answer a few questions about their experiences. If you fit that description, please private message me.

Thanks!

Why do you continue to ask about transferring and advice on transferring before you even go to law school?

Go to law school. Get your first semesters grades. Then ask people about their advice on transferring.

Or don't feed this OP's delusion that they're going to be able to transfer as a 0L who hasn't attended law school.

I'm a 1L now going to a T2 in New England. As an 0L, I fully expected to transfer to a T1/2 cusp school no issue because that's what I did for undergrad, however, life happens and things change so now even if I wanted to transfer it would be to a T3 or a T1 in this region and given the current climate neither are credible options.

Point is, go with the black letter transfer advice: Go to the school that you will want on your diploma and resume, but factor in cost however much you need to weigh it, focus on your courses, because schools do not care if you want to transfer until you have grades and if you have shit grades due to investing too much time into the idea of transfer they won't even glance twice. Then, after 1L fall grades, revisit, they want your spring grades too so you'll have some time. It's May, wait until December to have these thoughts, it will benefit you more to back burner transferring until then.
