Hi all. I'm a 0L but thinking long term and would like to know more about this before I get there.
I'm weighing scholly offers at this point and starting in the fall, but what I'm interested in is how veteran status affects getting jobs after law school, as well as summer associate positions. Does anyone have any first hand experience on how much it helps? I'm assuming it's minimal except for the networking connection - talking to other people with prior service, I can tell you that the connection is similar to what people from the same frats feel, so I imagine it's mostly just going to be a boost if the hiring decision maker is prior service.
But these are all basically guesses of mine - anyone got firsthand experience on that?

There's a thread where a V15 OCI interviewer answers questions. He says you have to make the grade cutoff to get an interview, but once you're in the door military experience, especially leadership experience (~E6 or officer), is a huge plus. That's one data point but he seemed pretty sure it applied generally.Troianii wrote:Hi all. I'm a 0L but thinking long term and would like to know more about this before I get there.

Thanks. I should have searched threads more before asking this, but thanks for the response. I was only an E4 so we'll see how much of a difference that makes.
But I like what I hear - I was skeptical that it would have a significant impact with non veteran decision makers.
