Aren't tolls generally intra-state? So not for leaving the state. Also, the purpose of tolls isn't to tax you for leaving the state, but to bear the costs of people traveling on the roads.

Yeah, tolls seem to be more of a usage tax, and I can't think of any place you can only access by toll roads.

Seems like you can't go anywhere in NJ without paying a toll, and they sure make it hard to leave without paying one.

It's 2015, you can tell your map app to avoid the damn things if you're too cheap to get anywhere on time.

ctfuuu i mean it's still a toll bridge...from Marin that would literally be like a 4000 mile drive lmao

Haha no one said it's a nice work around. But technically you could not have to pay tolls. You pay for the convenience, and the usage of the easy path.
