I'm pretty much in the same position (minus the kid), but a year behind you. Was there anything you regretted not being able to do in law school that your day student peers got to do?

Respect - it's not an easy path.

As an evening student, there were a lot of things I missed out on, especially since I took summer classes three years in a row to graduate early. The industry seminars, the summer events thrown for the summer associates, etc. I don't really regret missing any of that, though the networking opportunities could have been valuable down the road. Being in a summer program seems pretty fuckin cushy too. Those kids get treated like rock stars.

If there is anything I regret, its losing out on all that time I could have spent with my kid. That hurt. During the semester, I get to see her once during the week and on the weekends. It isn't quality time on the weekends either because I'm usually working on homework/assessments. Sometimes I get to see her before i leave for work, but it is only for a few minutes.
