How to recover from getting destroyed in class?

Post by DaRascal » Tue Sep 29, 2015 6:02 pm

Haha I got absolutely demolished in class today. My contracts prof cold called me at the very end of class and I was already extremely tired, but I did read all the cases. The problem is that my mind was so out of it that I struggled through the explanation and spoke with unusually low confidence. I was hesitant about even the simplest facts. I eventually got it all out, but really low confidence!

He didn't believe in me so toward the end he only gave me about five seconds to respond to his last question before calling on someone else. I also happen to have a major crush on this girl in my section. Did I blow it today? Haha! :)

$10.00 says that your contracts prof doesn't give a F. $20.00 says that he/she has heard worse. This will happen again this semester or next.

Talk to the girl in your section. She was probably just happy it wasn't her that was cold called. Keep on keeping on.

Don't sweat it, it doesn't matter.

Seriously, as long as you are not disrespectful to them, it will be fine

The girl in my section is really hot. I feel that my response today made her think "Wow, DaRascal's not about it after all... Just when I was starting to think he might be a pretty cool guy..."

Oh well

You should definitely talk to the girl in the next couple of days.

+1. Be law school romantic and invite her to a networking event.

Carmensandiego is encouraging DaRascal to (1) gamble, and (2) go talk to a girl. This response reflects an astonishing ignorance of TLS history.

Oh boy my confidence really is shot after today.

If I approach her, it's going to go something like "H-hey, what's up? [can't think of anything to say for a solid thirty seconds]"

and then "Would you like to go out this weekend? Together on a date I mean... *meek little mouse voice*" :(

I'm glad I've spent a ridiculous amount of time reading TLS threads to understand this

Talk to her about consideration.

My profs don't really grill you if you don't know shit about the cases, they just have this "i'm not mad, i'm just disappointed, and now i'm going to adjust your grade" look about them.
