Table of Authorities Question

Post by gatesome » Wed Sep 09, 2015 8:50 pm

If the text in a brief looks like this, with an internal citation, do you include both (Ford and Nike) in ToA or just the primary (Ford)?

The world will come to an end. See Ford v. Nissan, 24 US 183 (2003) (citing US v. Nike, 19 US 210 (1984))

I'm a paralegal. I should know this but I want to be 100% sure.

Thanks!

I was going to say "ask a paralegal," but then I read your third sentence.

Is this for school or court? If it's the latter, no one will notice or care.

(For what it's worth, I'm 80% sure that you include only the primary in the ToA)
