It's been a couple years but I thought the due date for reviewers was early/mid July. Then the Journal office people have to do some additional review or whatever and tabulate scores so late July seems about right.Gray wrote:I thought it was like first week of August/immediately before EIWHand wrote:Can the rising 3Ls get on with it already and get those write on results out?

Re: GULC Students Taking Questions
i'm judging transfers and literally just got the packet friday. they're due something like 2 weeks from that day, so yeah, do the math.
You will have journal results before OCI, but not early enough to do anything with the info besides print updated resumes to hand your interviewers. Same as us the year before. Use it as an opportunity to email (or re-email) every firm you bid on but didn't score a screener with. Maybe some magic will happen and a v90 will be super stoked you wrote-on to the Poverty Law Journal.

Hi guys.
Just committed to transfer to GULC.
Recommendations for housing? I am mainly looking for places to avoid.

Depending on your tolerance for urban living probably avoid anacostia/east of the river but I've heard that it's actually a fine place to live.browniestasty wrote:Hi guys.

Also the building Capitol Plaza right near campus looks pretty gross but the rest in that area seem fine.
Other than that it's a city like any other sometimes one block is sketchy and the next is fine.

My tolerance is high, but my wife's tolerance is close to zero.buckiguy_sucks wrote:Depending on your tolerance for urban living probably avoid anacostia/east of the river but I've heard that it's actually a fine place to live.
Exactly the info I was looking for. I was wondering why it was cheaper than the other buildings despite location.buckiguy_sucks wrote:Also the building Capitol Plaza right near campus looks pretty gross but the rest in that area seem fine.
Yeah. I assumed this would be the case. The best info I got now is Google Streetview and the cars parked on the streets though so looking to clarify.buckiguy_sucks wrote:Other than that it's a city like any other sometimes one block is sketchy and the next is fine.

I deeply, deeply apologize if you judged non-transfers as well and had to read my total malarkeyGlasseyes wrote:i'm judging transfers and literally just got the packet friday. they're due something like 2 weeks from that day, so yeah, do the math.

Is it really true GULC has no pokestops per Washington Post's crowdsourced map or just nobody has updated yet?

Weird considering how GULC is located in the vibrant downtown area surrounded by the homeless rehab center, open freeway, and random office/government buildingsbrowniestasty wrote:Is it really true GULC has no pokestops per Washington Post's crowdsourced map or just nobody has updated yet?

Re: GULC Students Taking Questions
I have an actual question now that's kind of important.
I missed the deadline to bid on EIW. At this point, do I just have to wait for August 1st and pray for open slots?

Re: GULC Students Taking Questions
Hmm this is where I was thinking about living due to the lower price range. Can you elaborate on why it's gross? I was assuming that the cheaper price would translate into a less modern building with fewer amenities, etc... But if it's out and out "gross" and/or sketchy, I may just bite the bullet and shell out some extra cash to live it up at 77H.buckiguy_sucks wrote:

I don't understand the premium people place on being close to campus the area is both expensive and a crappy area

yeah sounds like mailing and open sign up and hustling the hospitality suites are your optionsWhiskeyAndCupcakes wrote:I don't think you can bid after the deadline; I think that you can only do open sign ups. and whatever you do, don't mention missing the deadline in interviews. or ever again out loud anywhere to anyone. that's a pretty colossal mistake, tbhbuckiguy_sucks wrote:yeah sounds like mailing and open sign up and hustling the hospitality suites are your optionsWhiskeyAndCupcakes wrote:I don't think you can bid after the deadline; I think that you can only do open sign ups.
