NALP rules question

Post by AZ123 » Wed Aug 26, 2015 7:39 pm

I understand that 1l's can't contact potential employers before December 1st. Does that only apply to specific employment related questions? Basically, I want to send a follow up email to an attorney I was talking to a few months ago about law school decisions, but I don't want to get myself in trouble. Thanks! (Please don't quote)

You're fine. Also I'm pretty sure its that 1Ls just can't apply before Dec 1, but correct me if I'm wrong.

You're probably better off waiting until late November/December 1st.

Conversation I had with a potential summer employer last year:

Me: "Hi, I'm interested in working for your organization this summer!"
Employer: "Awesome! Send us your resume ASAP"
Me: "uhhh well nalp, so can I wait until december 1?"
Employer: "oooookay then"

did not end up getting the spot. :|
