Criminal Law E&E vs Dressler

Post by Calbears123 » Fri Jul 17, 2015 10:10 pm

My friend gave me a copy of both to take to school this year, but didn't give me an opinion over which one was better because he never used them. What is TLS opinion of these two supplements for 1l criminal law? I'd rather only have to work out of one.

I found Dressler far more helpful than the crim law E&E, which I found to be among the worst of the E&E's. Honestly, the only E&E series books I would recommend are torts and civ pro.

Dressler.

The crim E&E might just be the worst E&E out there. I've even noticed outright legal errors. Avoid it like the plague.

Thanks guys, but it looks like Civ Pro got switched with Criminal Law this year so I won't be taking that class until the 2nd semester. Lucky for me the Civ Pro E&E is going to be recommended by my professor so I'll pick that up.

Get Freer's book too, or use his barbri 1L videos, or his audiobook series, whatever just let freer help you.

+1 Freer barbri 1L video for civ pro

+1 Dressler supplement (the crim law E&E sucks, imo)

Alumni at my school suggested I drop $50 on barbri deposit for the 1l outlines and videos. I'm guessing Freer's videos are apart of it?

Yes, but you may still want the Freer supplement. The Chemerinsky videos are worthwhile for Constitutional Law, as well. I can't really comment on the other videos or the outlines.
Also, I believe you can always ditch BarBri later without losing your deposit money.
