Hiding tats during summer associate stint

Post by POTUSorSCOTUS » Sat May 30, 2015 3:03 pm

I will be working in a conservative firm in the South. How do I hide the tats on my arms and biceps during events? Many events include outdoor events, so long sleeve shirts may look out of place but I don't know.

Any advice or suggestions?

Maybe get a linen or some kind of other breathable long sleeve shirt. You could wear with shorts I guess. Don’t really think you have another option than long sleeves.

Cut your arms off.

Plus they'd have to offer you or DISABILITY DISCRIMINATION

I know plenty of people in professional jobs who have tattoos and don't regret getting them.

Yea one of the partners where I am has an ankle tattoo. I think the long sleeve linen shirt is credited though.

You should just use those adhesive plasters that Lebron wore in High school cause they made him cover his tats

So do I, but you always run the risk of some asshole like me judging you if you have visible tattoos--not worth it, IMO.

Not really sure why you would think of this as an excuse.

There is none. This is one of the most obnoxious posters on this site, and if the real-life persona is anything like what this dick-hole projects here, one of those human beings the world would be far better off without.

I was an idiot and got two large and visible tats on my forearms when I was 18. Since then - more than 7 years now - I only wear short sleeves at the gym, and never in front of business or networking associates. E.g., I play co-rec kickball each Sunday during the DC summer and wear a long-sleeve dry-fit shirt. I also wore long-sleeves anytime not in my home much throughout undergrad. Such is the price of young stupidity.

Obviously you can't let your tats be seen. So at all casual firm events wear a rolled up long-sleeve oxford, tucked out, with shorts and boat shoes/loafers. You'll sweat a lot - get used to it.

Yeah but I don't really give a shit if random assholes like you judge me. (And I actually don't have any visible tattoos, but I have a nose ring I wear on the weekends and do kind of crazy stuff with my hair. And meh.)

Whether I or anyone else SHOULD judge someone for having tats is irrelevant. If you are too socially retarded to realize that showing off your tats in a white collar work environment is a faux pas, then you're probably too dumb to be trying for a white collar job in the first place.

Yeah, I was responding to Holly's comment about not caring whether people are judging. You should care.

That said, however, my opinion is never going to change, especially not based on what a bunch of insecure losers think about it (and I just assume that everyone with tattoos is insecure).

OP, you can, depending on how big they are, pick up a box of muscle pain relief patches at your local pharmacy. If anyone asks, you injured yourself at the gym.

(Also, sublime)
