Using "Id" in a string cite

Post by anacharsis » Mon Sep 01, 2014 9:08 pm

Can I use Id. in a string cite?

Ex:

[1st citation]: Marbury v. Madison, 5 U.S. 137 (1803).

[2nd citation]: Id.; Allen v. Wright, 468 U.S. 737 (1984).

Also I'm totally unsure about that semicolon.
