Hey Guys,

Apologies in advance if this sounds like a dumb question, but what are the "rules" (if any) for mass mailing for a 1L SA position? I know the positions are scarce to begin with, but all of the advice I've encountered about mass mailing in general focuses on 2L summer.
If one does mass mailing for 1L summer, is it acceptable to repeat the next summer? Even to the same firms?
Not trying to be a gunner (starting school in the fall), but I don't want to be trying to be figuring this out right before finals.

Only rule I know of is you can't apply before December 1st

What do you mean "is it acceptable to repeat the next summer?" Are you asking if you can apply for a 1L SA and a 2L SA at the same firms? Sure, why wouldn't you be able to?

After December 1st, you send your resume, transcript, and a cover letter to the firm's recruiting contact. Firms will actively encourage you to apply again for your 2L summer if you don't get a position after your 1L year. I can't think of any other rules or requirements.

Sorry for the confusion BigZuck, I was asking if I could apply both first and second summers.
