Résumé question

Post by timmyd » Tue Jun 24, 2014 8:27 pm

So my school does not rank. They release top 25% cutoff which is a 3.64. I have a 3.69. My question is whether I should put the cutoff on my résumé or just leave the gpa as is. I know this sounds nitpicky but my thinking is that if I leave it off, employers might think I rank higher. On the other hand, it feels weird to me not having any kind of ranking on my résumé. I will be mass mailing soon and want to get some insight from the ever knowledgable TLS crowd. Another factor is that some markets might not be familiar with my schools cutoffs as they don't come to oci...

I would put (top 25%) next to the GPA, but that's because to me, that's higher than I would think top 25% is. But I think that's just the Northwestern difference.

Yea...I'm at UT and we seem to have a high median/ top quarter. The no ranking thing kills me because I transferred from a school where you basically were a numerical measurement of success that was tangibly observable.

I phrased that poorly. I would think 3.65 is closer to median than 25%. lol

Oh ok...your comment is good advice then. I had no idea the upper level schools had such high medians.
