I am a 0L headed to Penn in the fall. I currently am trying to decide between taking an unpaid internship with a local court and a paid internship doing accounting work, the latter being a paid internship. The extra money would be nice, but I will be fine with out it. Would it look weird to have an accounting internship on my resume the summer before law cycle? Would interning at the court, even though I will be performing relatively unimportant tasks, be a better thing to have on the resume? Thanks.

Take the money. It really doesn't matter what you do pre-1L, to be honest. And you'll need all the money you can get in the fall!

I would even argue that having some finance/accounting knowledge will be more useful to you in the long run than the unpaid court internship. You'll broaden your knowledge base, and I've heard from many practicing lawyers that they wish they knew more accounting/finance, and were surprised at how often it comes up in their practice.
