Looking good and practicing law
As a small law paralegal, I wore thrifted $10 suits to court. I'm quite the lord of frugality and paying big change for "unnecessary" things like style makes my skin crawl, but I'm very aware that looking presentable is a practical necessity in the practice of law (at least in court and in biglaw). Do any practicing attorneys feel like their getting away with paying less for self-presentation? Will I need to suck it up and reserve $5,000.00 for work clothes per year, when I'm in the field? Any thoughts on this topic are welcome. Clearly, this is a bored post...

It depends on your firm and practice area. At my firm, the securities and appellate dudes dress very well. The patent lawyers dress, well, LOL.
