It's not surprising to me that the work-life balance is tilted toward work. It is surprising to me that they (or their marketing people) would keep such an ineffective sales pitch on youtube for 8 years.

On balance, this Video tilted me toward thinking that their work/life balances are imbalanced.

Why do they care? It's not like they are hurting for applicants.

They also didn't upload it themselves.

It really is a 180 video.

"Now that technology is so great, I am able to spend a full 1 hour with my family each night."

What does "making the effort" mean? Is that like sneaking out of the office when nobody is looking?

This video is eerily similar to the scene in Michael Clayton where Tilda Swinton's character is practicing her work/life balance speech in front of a mirror and it just comes out as an incoherent mess. "There's your balance!"

I feel like I should mention that I googled their names, and the lady passed away at like 37 years old. That's why I edited above. Just so you know...

I think it means forcing yourself to nod along to whatever your child is saying at dinner even though you're on the backend of an all-nighter and all you want to do in the world is pass out face-first in the spaghetti your nanny made for everyone.

Sorry, I don't have a working comprehensive knowledge of all threads ever posted on TLS about this video.

"and especially now that we have a much *pause* better technology system..."

Am I the only one who thinks during that pause he is considering ending it all right then and there?

They're probably thinking about all the billable time they're missing because they have to say something for the video. Maybe that's why they look like zombies.

that movie is probably the best representation of the legal industry because it shows it's full of overworked psychopaths

Was meant more in a Dickensian master-serveant kind of way, but happy to delete if it's offensive.
