How much do graduates from top 10 law schools make initially
How much?
And how much do they make 5 years down the road?
10 years?
Thanks.
Assuming they are not at the bottom of their class and have A's and B's and whatnot at law school

Hmm. What about those who go into personal injury law? What are their salaries?brotherdarkness wrote:This requires knowing what the graduate chooses to do. If he or she is working in the private sector, market pay for first-year associates at biglaw firms is $160,000 (plus a bonus that may or may not be tied to the Cravath scale). If he or she is working for a public interest organization, pay is going to be significantly lower. However, with IBR/PAYE/LRAP/PSLF/etc., the gap is narrowed (especially for those who are paying sticker at a T10 school and therefore have substantial student loan payments).
Looking five or ten years down the road is difficult. Most don't make partner in biglaw, and there's some disagreement as to how much those who do make partner will actually be taking hope (is it 100% of PPP, or less? how much less?). Many will move to smaller firms or to government jobs, go in-house, or even leave the field of law entirely. Who knows. No one can give you a good answer to that question.

Probably like 40-60k at most but considering YHS is comprised of people who want Big Law or prestigious fed gigs and can get them, CCN/P is mostly Big Law gunners, you don't find a lot opting to go into PI.

Maybe if you are biglaw and keep your job. Too many variables both in getting to biglaw and staying.streampaw wrote:264k is 5-10 years down the line?Desert Fox wrote:170k

As to your Personal Injury question....
Pay will start out awful, probably 50K or less, then it can become very high if you and your firm do very well on contingency cases, if not you make basically nothing, it is the most high risk/ high reward of any legal job.
