I found this employment chart and I wanted to know what people's opinions are, especially anyone who actually attends GULC.
http://www.law.georgetown.edu/careers/o ... ry-6-5.pdf
According to this, 314 (332-18) (You will see this written out below the charts) GULC students in the class of 2012 were able to secure employment that pays over 100k salary. Given that there were 626 students in the class of 2012, this means that more than half of Georgetown students graduating in 2012 had starting salaries that were over 100k. Most people believe that there are also many more students who obtain public interest positions by choice, who very well could be taking the 100k salary type jobs instead. So, if we take this chart and the information with it to be fact, the percentage of students who graduated Georgetown in 2012 who obtained "desirable" employment (by almost anyone's standards) is notably over 50%, (probably more like something in the 60's?).
What do you guys think? Are these numbers just blatant lies? Can they be? Any opinions from someone who goes to Georgetown would be great, but all opinions are welcome.
Thanks a lot

Re: GULC Employment
Thanks for the advice, I fixed the link. I tried checking the GULC employment threads, but I constantly find people just saying that Gtown only recruits 30% into the NLJ 250 so not worth at sticker/worse than every other T-14. I haven't seen much info about the other great jobs GULC grads can get. This is to try to figure out what the deal is with ALL of the good opportunities that GULC law grads can be afforded, not just NLJ 250 jobs like I most often see.hichvichwoh wrote:might wanna try that link again, but also prepare yourself for people telling you to "check the other GULC employment threads"

Huh, well, I'm at GULC right now, but since the student body doesn't openly discuss employment stuff all I can tell you is that those numbers don't seem implausible? 400 responses seems pretty good, although to be safe you should assume that the vast majority of people who didn't respond did not have good outcomes.

I see what you're saying, but they do have responses from those 300+ people saying they are making the 100k plus, so we can pretty safely say over 50% have those jobs. How much over is still going to be a question. Do you see any flaws in that logic?
(They also say employment status unknown for only .32%. So this is giving data on 99.7% of people, so it's giving a pretty complete picture)

Yeah, I mean, I don't think they'd straight up lie about the numbers, so I guess it's safe to say that the class of 2012 had at least a 50% rate of employment at 100k+ private sector jobs. Keep in mind though, it's only for one year, and sticker is still really painful, even at 100k. It's definitely promising though.yankeesjn wrote:hichvichwoh wrote:Huh, well, I'm at GULC right now, but since the student body doesn't openly discuss employment stuff all I can tell you is that those numbers don't seem implausible? 400 responses seems pretty good, although to be safe you should assume that the vast majority of people who didn't respond did not have good outcomes.
