How did you get your job?... Is it a small firm, mid-sized firm, or Biglaw?... And are there any co-curricular organizations or journals that you recommend besides law review?

It's a small firm... only 4 attorneys.

Any of the journals are good, and if you can get into one, do it. As for clubs and organizations, you have to be an officer in order for an employer to care. For example, being a member of the BALSA means nothing, while being the treasurer may help you a bit.
