I think OP is right. Many students do 0 research. I showed my fellow interns LST and other sources and none of them had ever heard of it. They didn't know that employment data existed outside USNWR.
Edit: but I wouldn't tell random classmates that they are doomed or anything.

Yea I already deleted the post but I was just trying to be helpful. I figured if I was in the person shoes I would want someone to inform me before I spend thousands of dollars and 3 years of my time on what I was getting in to, and I tried to do it as nicely as possible.
