Question about possible paralegal position
Hello all,
I'm a recent graduate who applied for a few paralegal positions and I'm trying to research a reasonable money offer for a potential firm.
I believe the firm is ran by one lawyer (because it is simple his name in the firm name) but it is ran in NYC.
In the application, he listed pay as "Competitive"
I was guessing low to mid 30s (i was thinkin to say 35k)
Am I overshooting it?

Re: Question about possible paralegal position
I work at a small firm (no more than twelve attorneys at a given time) with one managing partner. I had no paralegal experience and came in straight out of college. It's not in NYC, so there could be a difference, but I make about $13.5/hr.

I made 13/hr in a midwest market. Perhaps its a bit higher with it being in NYC, but somewhere in the 30s seems optimistic.

12 attorneys is a far cry from 1 solo.magp90 wrote:I work at a small firm (no more than twelve attorneys at a given time) with one managing partner. I had no paralegal experience and came in straight out of college. It's not in NYC, so there could be a difference, but I make about $13.5/hr.
Keep in mind a ton of the applicants for a position like this are probably not college grads, but career secretary/admin kinda people, and these tiny firms have no qualms about hiring them for nearly minimum wage, especially if the atty is older.
