Would you have a better chance of transferring to NYU and Columbia if:
1). You attend Brooklyn (65) have ties to NY and are 5 percent
OR
2). You attend a school ranked in the 40s outside of NY
which would have a better shot of transferring to Col or NYU Forum

1) Don't go to a law school with the intention of transferring. The transfer road is paved with the disappointed souls of many law school students who had the same idea as you, will try just as hard as you, and won't get good enough grades.
2) NYU seems to have a slight preference for NY students. I don't think Columbia does. Even so, it will probably have a marginal impact on your chances anyway.
3) Retake.
4) If you won't follow this advice, just pick whichever school is in a region that you want to stay in post-graduation and/or costs less.

It's easier to retake and get a good score on the LSAT than be top 5% at BLS or some other TTT.

Don't go to law school. You clearly don't understand that no one should EVER EVER EVER go to law school with the intention of transferring.

I'm REALLY skeptical that NYU/Columbia care if you have ties to NY. Why would they care about that? Firms care whether you have ties to an area because they're worried that they'll sink a bunch of money into a summer associate who won't actually come back, but that logic seems inapplicable to prestigious law schools.barberiolisa wrote:Would you have a better chance of transferring to NYU and Columbia if:
