I'm thinking about a JD/MBA and I'm wondering if anyone can comment on this. The ideal layout for a 4 year program would look like this to me:
1st - 1L (Summer: externship with judge)
2nd - 2L (Summer: 2L SA)
3rd - 3L/1st yr MBA (Summer: MBA Internship in Finance/Consulting)
4th - 2nd yr MBA (Summer: Bar exam->Biglaw)
Where did you work, and how did your 4 year (or 3 year) layout compare to this?

Re: JD/MBAs: Where did you work during your summers?
I'm a 1L in a three-year program (we take classes over the first summer). From what I understand from the classes before me, most people ended up taking an SA over their second summer just due to the recruiting timeline, unless they were really dead-set against practicing law. After graduation, however, the program split about 50-50 law/business, so some of the people who did do SAs ended up doing more recruiting later and taking business positions.

That layout looks fine to me, basically the exact structure I had. Fairly standard.
