Transfer from Texas to T-10? Possible?

Post by michaelm55 » Mon Sep 17, 2012 1:58 pm

If I attend UT Austin, what are my chances of transferring to a T-10 after 1L? What kind of grades would it require?

If your goal is T10, you're better off retaking the lsat than trying to get into the ~10% at ut. While I think hard work + smart studying can help you maximize your law school grades, the lsat is vastly more learnable and more predictable than law school exams. Don't attend ut unless you would be completely happy graduating from ut.

If you can get into UT- that means your gpa and LSAT scores are very close to Top 10 Schools. So if you really want T10- retake and reapply.

Wow. I hope you have some realization of how hard you will have to work/how lucky you will have to be to get top 15% at UT, OP.

Just retake if T10 means that much to you.

It would require the kind of grades where, if you had them, you wouldn't need to transfer to a T-10.

I feel awkward writing this, but ... Veyron is right.

Top quarter can do it. But at T10s with large class sizes. So Berkeley/Penn/Chicago/UVA/Duke are out, you need to hit up Mich/NU/Columbia/NYU/etc
